Hitman Neutral Newbie January 16, 2004 Share January 16, 2004 Thats good ..... u are in the same group as me. Most Protege 323 owners have a problem with FC too ... 11-12 km/l whilst I am getting 14 km/l. I think its all in practising good driving habits and maintaining your engine well. I hope my statement does not offend any Hyundai owners out there ↡ Advertisement

Toxic Neutral Newbie January 16, 2004 Author Share January 16, 2004 Quote hi toxic,i am helping out my sis who is a SE in RTMT in ubi megamart.for those who wants to get new hyundai cars, pls call her at 93808266,her name is irene lee, mention my name n you will get better options. Thkx roverboy, but would to learn more abt how this korean car last in a long run. Will this car start to fall apart & give many problems especially after the warrantly period, anyway I don't wish to get a car that makes me visit the workshop too often. Never have experience with korean car, but heard they have improved alot in recent yrs. Would like to hear more comments on this before stepping into it. Thanks

Roverboy 1st Gear January 17, 2004 Share January 17, 2004 i am driving matrix for 3 mths only,so far no problem, thats all i can tell you
Bcyn Neutral Newbie January 17, 2004 Share January 17, 2004 my uncle juz collected his matrix... he's been driving for abt 3 wks and FC not really appealing... $60 can only fetch him 380-400 km. maybe still under run in but hopefully his FC improves... btw if u wanna get matrix has 2 versions. matrix GLS 1.6L (manual/auto) and matrix revo 1.8L (auto only) the 1.6 one feels underpowered. i quite prefer the 1.8 one. Staromega Neutral Newbie January 22, 2004 Share January 22, 2004 I don't know abt your uncle, I have been driving for 1.5 mth now for my matrix 1.6A, $50 can fetch 500km and power wise, after few enhancement it is now to my expectation. First of all comparing FC betw car must compare to same class. Matrix is diff class compare to Toyota Corolla or Nissan Sunny, but same as Renaunt Scenic. Wh1tehat Neutral Newbie January 22, 2004 Share January 22, 2004 (edited) Bro, you have it good man. IMHO, FC largely depends on driving habits and style. If you have been takeing the expressway 80% of time, plus on off-peak hours, and never attempts to take off from a stop, FC will definitely improve by leaps and bounds. hehehe, like some bros in Jazz, swear by 19km/l... whilst i can only clock 14km/l as a conservative average. I wouldn't say they are not the same class though. If not, the class is "limited". Do you have colt and jazz in the same class as matrix hence ? Vit4wd 1st Gear January 22, 2004 Share January 22, 2004 I seem to be seeing loads of 2nd hand Matrix on sale in the clasified ad. Any particular reasons? As for reliability, each car has its own faults, be it German, Korean or Japanese. For your info, my 2 yr old made-in Japan Corolla (parked in sheltered lot 80% of the time) already has the following problems : 1. Faulty power window motor 2. All 4 window frames rubber warped 3. Handle bar on rear passenger door came loose (most of the time, it's only me in the car, rear seats unused) I take very good care of my car, yet these unacceptable faults can come from the best selling Japanese marque. What do you say?
Hitman Neutral Newbie January 22, 2004 Share January 22, 2004 take very good care of my car, yet these unacceptable faults can come from the best selling Japanese marque. What do you say? I find the same problems with SONY. My Mom's Sony TV (Japan Made) can only last 3 years before it starts giving al sorts of problems. My LG 29 inch TV is still going strong after 8 years. When I first bought it .... evrybody says LG sucks and will cause a lot of problems. Think once they captured the global market , they start to get lax .... and those TRYING to capture the global mrket tends to pay more atention to quality and not quantity. Basic economics , once they start loking at quantity production .... quality suffers ↡ Advertisement
