Shopping for 1 is still too early, but I need to have a goal.

Thanks for your offer, but I perfer to test drive 1 from the dealer or KM. Dun feel so guilty when I floor the baby and corner without braking.

Have you gotten your MCF decal yet??

Could not make it for the last meetup.

Anyway, what are you using for your paintwork? What products?

Any comments on them?

Well, all I know is the higher you sit, the more you roll! [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Pardon me for being ignorant, but is your Stream a full MPV with 7 seats or something more like the Scenic with 5 seats? Your kerb weight is very light at 1345kg, just 95 kg more than my babe. If it's a 5 seater, there should be no problem with rims like SL. Maybe not for 7 seater as the gross weight might be an extra 150 - 250 kgs, fully loaded.

Since your kerb weight is 1345kg and your engine is 1.7L, I really feel that a set heavier rims will really bog the car down especially from a standing acceleration. Any extra 1kg on each rim over the stock rims means an additional 4 kg of unsprung weight. Anything more than 10 kg can be felt. Not to mention more rolling resistance with fatter tyres.

Why don't you check the SLs load rating first?

Just my $0.02.

The SLs are rated at 620kg for the 4 x100 17"x7J. If unsure, check with Leong Seng as the box comes with a list of recommended car models that the rim can fit. The ES civic is one of them.

Rock,

E169 posted that the load rating for the 17" SL is 620kgs so maximum leaden weight will be 2480kgs! Do you think you'll hit that payload? [:p][laugh][laugh]

I think you can safely go for SLs lah! [nod]

Thanks E169, for the info! [thumbsup]

Autodiy,

No problem...I always floor it and race it to the redline every other day anyway.

My autotranny will be the next to go.... [furious]

Yeah, got the decal from TB at the last MCF garage meet. [thumbsup]

Paintwork products? I am using rojak concoction of....3M swirl-mark remover for

cleaning up the paint work (rub it till it squeaks) and then Zymol Carbon for laying

on the wax. I finished my Zymol HD cleanse....thats why...and now cant wait to

get the klasse products from TB.

I used to be Chandra's neighbour...that's why I got intro to this Zymol product...

quite good but ex...smells great though. That's before he switched to marketing

Zaino...

Hi Mike

OK....dun think I will be carrying elephants in my stream....no way to hit 2480 kgs.

I see...so that's what those markings on the rims are for....load rating. I was wondering what the hell it stands for... [rolleyes]

But I guess I have to indent it then.....Leong Seng did not seem that keen to do it.

Just simply said SL not available in 5 x 114.3 PCD. In fact, they said...OZ dun make it in that size. But it's still quite ex compared to the cheapo but light RM rims....

Who did u approach for identing your OZ SLs??

Wah, I see you're giving your engine plenty of exercise and should be in tip-top condition! [thumbsup]

Just make sure you don't neglect the tranny oil change. You may want to consider an auto tranny cooler.
