Jaymz21 Neutral Newbie January 6, 2004 Author Share January 6, 2004 (edited) i can feel the difference in my ride... but it didnt do a thing for the ex owner... juz that it requires a little effort in tuning. it can be tuned to suit ur liking... be it for power or for better consumption.. so far, my consumption looks set to improve, though not by a lot. still, i like the acceleration now esp in the lower gears... btw as i like to say, get a 2nd hand one..more worth it.. Airgod Neutral Newbie January 6, 2004 Share January 6, 2004 feel the surge more pronounce at around 2.2k- 3k rpm. throttle is light, this is very obvious, but the downside i become HRF. I think it can perform better if not for the location just next to the radiator, where thew law of hot air vs cold air take over especially at noon. bro, i am still finding best location for it. By the way, how do you fix your e68? by using bracket or cable tie? Mine is the latter, and i hope to find a bracket for my e68 to look better.. heh...heh.. got any lobang where to buy the bracket? Jaymz21 Neutral Newbie January 6, 2004 Author Share January 6, 2004 mine's using cable tie..and currently in a very comprimising location. its pependicular to my cone filter, wif its opening facing the firewall... its drawing hotair now but its cos when the ex owner fixed for me, it was at nite and the lighting wasnt good. so we couldnt find a good location. will be changing my cone filter on saturday as well as having a meetup wif guys from another forum at my mech's workshop so perhaps we can brainstorm a few ideas on how and where to mount the e68.. i'll let u know if we come up wif anything. btw, u got mail. Sungeigedong Neutral Newbie January 7, 2004 Share January 7, 2004 Hi! I had at one time, wrapped that E68 with black insulating foam. Then removed. If there was any difference, it's not noticeable. Consider that with the amount of air your cone filter is drawing. So if it was me...don't pay too much; money, effort and attention to wrapping the E68. You could use "jubilee" clamps to secure the E68 but that might mar the matt silver finish. Your first course of action is to replace the one cable tie, at the T-joint. Then consider where to relocate the E68. Also there was a post about McWell using compressed air to clean the E68. Not sure if this is a good idea. The E68 cannot be disassembled to blow from behind the wire mesh. And if blowing from outside it - I don't believe that's the way to clean the E68. If you look at the cut-away model of the E68, the passage way is a very small diameter and dirt particles can quickly accumulate and block the passage way (think cholestrol in artery) or clogged the one-way valve at the top of the E68. If filter is desired, I would think a porous sponge/foam (temperature resistant), e.g. air filter elements, cut and secure over the E68 intake end would be a much better option. PS: If you're really looking to insulate the E68, just for you, I'll pass you a length of insulation foam tape.

Timothyo Neutral Newbie March 30, 2005 Share March 30, 2005 Please don't forget to remove the lock spring at the air inlet mesh. It will get rusty over the period of time and fine particles may suck into the suction chamber of the engine. ↡ Advertisement
