Neutral Newbie

hi, just sharing some generic views,

I do not own a 307 but have friends who do, and they are generally happy with their ride. One even traded in her old 307 for the new FL 307.

Have taken plenty rides in 307s and driven it too.

The boot can swallow golf bags, i do not forsee baby pram to be a prob, how much space left over really depends on how u stack, and of course, size of pram.

French cars are known for their suspension, hence comfort is a sure thing.

Stablilty factor - 8/10 ( Cruising at high speed if that is what u mean )

When we do drives up north in convoy style, the 307s nv have prob keeping up.

Family of 3, no prob at all.

FC is average, as i hear.( I dun hear complains so i presume its ok )

Very much dependent of how heavy ur leg is.

The interior is, in my view, nothing to shout abt vis-a-vis other conti makes of the same $$.

Very good alternative would be the Citroen C4 and the Ford Focus, again the latter being cheaper in terms of $$.

I personally prefer the look of the 307 to others.

Currently 2 variants are being offered - X-line and XS with the latter being better equipped and of course, costing more. Exactly what extras, i cant remember.

The 6 million dollar qn - Servicing at Autofrance has improved much since the older days. As compared to other conti marque, it is still considered reasonable.

Ur mindset cannot compare with jap servicing prices of course.

There are also delicated Peugeot / Citroen workshops that many such cars out of warranty frequent and its reliable and reasonable, one being in AMK Autopoint and the other in Ubi.

The peugeot forum shd be up and running very shortly, www.peugeotsingapore.org

Good luck and happy hunting.

thx! that's a brilliant rundown! i'm actually looking at both focus and 307. i like 307's exterior look too. focus may lose in terms of interior but i heard the handling is very good. of course the cheaper price that comes with ford makes it look more attractive. still looking around... but i'm starting to like the people in peugeot forum already.... I am looking forward to the peugeot forum as I too has confirmed a 407. I love the design and features in the car although the minus will be low HP in the engine, no rear middle arm-rest - something unthinkable nowadays, dispaly lights at dashboard not so legible but overall it's really the drive of your life. Have any any feedback for me as well?

hihi!congrats for ur purchase.. how much did u pay for ur ride?

i have been driving a peugeot 407 for 2 years alr! you will learn to love taking the car around corners and bends and all those little things like rain and light sensor BUT be prepared to be smoked when it comes to acceleration and the gear box is a little jerky on the lower gears :( sad but bearable.. heh

FC is considered quite good can hit 9-10km per litre unless you persistently ram to 3-4k RPM everytime u accelerate...

Thanks, the price is $87,900 plus they throw in a lot of freebies that we do not get from competitors. Is there any glitches that you have encountered to alert me about?I am satisfied with the level of gadgets and safety features although it can always be improved still. Have you changed your first set of brake pads and battery yet after 2 years? Guess your mileage should be around 40,000km? This is my first French baby though I have owned German, Swedish, and Japanese make before. Hope to have fun!

Hi fellow Pug drivers,

Any recommendations on which workshop to go to if I want to install neon lights in areas such as the glove compartment, footwell, boot.. of the car?

Is there a need to go to a workshop with experience of wiring Pugs? Or will any old workshop do.

Thanks!

off hand i remember one pug driver mention that he/she did it at the auto workshop at the basement carpark of jurong point.

if you want to read in detail of the process/experience of pug drivers who've done such installs, then keep your fingers crossed that the pug forum will be up soon.

then register and drive on in!

There is 1 shop at Lim Tua Tow Rd that did neon lights on my 206. Can't rem the shop name, but it should be the 3rd or 4th shop from the left. It should be obvious to you when you turn into the carpark.

Hello S_K,

Did you buy the neon lights from the workshop? Or did the workshop only do the installation.

Any feedback on the workmanship??? [;)]

Thanks!
