Sky8807 1st Gear July 31, 2002 Share July 31, 2002 something dislodged, either broke off due to corrosion or fatigue. Another possibilities is the linkages drop off its position. Only way to confirm is to open up the door panel to look.

Zirco, If you go to BM ......it'll cost you up to about SGD 500 thereabouts.......outside...dunno about United, but I'd expect it'll cost you about SGD 280 at somewhere like Servotronics. If you have 'kang tao' at scrapyards, it'll cost you only about 100+ but no guarantee that it'll last cos it's been used before, and for your info, the sets are side / direction centric......meaning if you are thinking of taking out motor and regulator from side passenger door.. ....u cannot do so cos it is designed for the specific door unlike Jap cars where there are generic sets..... Zirco Neutral Newbie August 1, 2002 Author Share August 1, 2002 not the regulator. It's the whole unit including the motor. Anyway they give discount so cheaper than the quoted price.
Eliew Neutral Newbie July 16, 2003 Share July 16, 2003 Hi, Just discovered I could not wind up my power windows all of a sudden. Any recommendations for a cheap and reliable workshop for repairs? thanks million!
Gadgeter 2nd Gear July 16, 2003 Share July 16, 2003 Sometimes, it might not be the motor that gives you problem.. It could be due to the switch too.,
Eliew Neutral Newbie July 16, 2003 Share July 16, 2003 Thanks but think my motor's ok as I could hear it running. it could wind down but not up (same problem as the originator of this thread reported). More importantly, are there any recommendations on a gd workshop to send the car for fixing? I have called up CAS and understand they do, just not sure how much. Cool Neutral Newbie July 16, 2003 Share July 16, 2003 What is your defination of "KAPOO".. is it broken into pieces? Sometimes, when water sip into the motor, it just would not work. You need to spray WD40 to get rid of the water. Before you do that, use a multimeter and test the connectors into your power window motor and see is there electricity. Unlikely it KAPOO, cos it was raining heavily and water may be the cause. my 2 cents.. if it works, you need not spend $$$ on a workshop. ↡ Advertisement
