Hi all not too sure where to post this...tot this might be a good place [pirate]!

To improve upon the stock sound system in my car i plan to sound clad the car (undercarraige and wheel wells only). It is by tuffcoat people abt 400++ i think. Any bro here has done it b4 and will there be peeling or flacking of the soundproff material in the long run? Is it ok to use high pressure jet sary on the SP material.

Thanks

IMO I do not think it is worth paying. You need to return to Tuff Kote and re-apply the Sound Clad material annually. This adds up to the cost.

You can consider doing floorplan soundproofing. Run a check on Lancer Cedia forums. There is a guy selling bitumen sheets for soundproofing.

I have seen the material before. I am using it on my bonnet. Dun find it effective. This material is very foamy.

I prefer bitumen and insulation foam sheets over the SP material at Autobacs

Did my SoundClad for $300 I think.

After applying , I did noticed a decrease in external noise. However, it was still not good enuff for me. And I was deciding to do the floorpan but finally, I Just installed my ICE System ! and well... all I can say is that.. if you dont want to hear the road noise, turn up the volume! ..hahaha.. If only I had just installed the ICE in the first place..

But if I really had a choice to do it all over again, I would do the floorpan stuff as it cost around the same price as SoundClad but you dont have to reapply annually.
