Random screeching soung when reversing

Sometimes when I brake while reversing, I hear a horrible screeching sound. Something is definately scratching something else. The funny thing is that I cannot replicate this problem when I am at BM. The last time, they cleaned the discs but I am sure that this problem has something to do with the fact that the car is parked with the back wheels higher than the front wheels. Call me crazy but BM has no idea.

Anyone with a similar experience or any advice ? I am driving a Toyota Vios 1.5S which I took in March this year.

will ask friend to see if he has similar symptoms.

He just collected VIOS 3 mths ago.

if the rear is brake disc, then u might hv picked up a metallic object or stone in your pads. else it's just brake pads running in from the friction.

Perhaps u could ask B M to disassemble your discs and pads for inspection and then re-assemble them. Sometimes it can help, if it's an assembly issue.

Just found some info on a website that most cars do have some sounds when braking. This is due to the material used to make the discs and the pads. It seems, with the right combination of moisture and heat, they make some noise. I will continue to try and identify when but I think by then, I would have learnt to live with it. It is only a car.

point form.

1. Somewhat short if you are using child seats (rear facing)

2. Easy to drive, pickup is okay for a 1.5

3. Body roll can be very obvious if the driver is of a larger build.

4. Good head clearance.

5. Average interior, bootspace.

6. Standard rims and wheels a little small compared to size of the car (upgrade if possible).

Perhaps, the new Megane sedan would be a better option these days.
