Mmythos Neutral Newbie November 6, 2003 Share November 6, 2003 Buying a korean car with a 10 year loan? Do you think that korean car can last for 10 years? If you buy now and get a 10 year loan... few year later when the car couldn't make it anymore you are still paying the loan!... Better think hard... ↡ Advertisement
En0203 2nd Gear November 7, 2003 Share November 7, 2003 Hi! noname, welcome to MCF! try to avoid 10 yr loan at all cost unless u are very sure that u wan to use this car throughout the 10 yrs. some ppl need to top up to sell the car because they owe bank more than the scrap/selling price of the car, and this normally happens on those who take longer loans and low downpayment so if u can afford high downpayment and short loan, go for it and interest for 7 yrs loan is lower too as for the cars, i am sorry i can't comment much on both rio and accent coz none of my frens own one try mydotcom if he's around, he just bought a 2nd hand accent not long ago and it's quite a good deal my uncle is currently driving a presea, the engine is still running strong and never give him any problem although the car is already 12 yrs old. throughout the 12 yrs, the major repair cost him less than SGD$3k (all repairs were done in jb ) but the car is a bit small though just my 2 cents

Lk_turbo Neutral Newbie November 11, 2003 Share November 11, 2003 any car can easily outlast 10 years if properly maintained... buying a korean car do have their fair bit of drawback.... like older technology, cheaper interior, non head-turners... but it is surely a lighter finanical burden than jap models... be fair...korean car are always improving... IMHO Hyundai feel more reliable to me than Kia Test-drive to two cars and compare.... upgrade to a Jap in future when economy is better... but i dun think u wanna change to Jap after u realised the true value of a Hyundai Accent... Soya Supersonic November 11, 2003 Share November 11, 2003 dun underestimate the 1.5M Accent. it's a very competent car for the price. i'll take that over a beat up 10yr old jap car anytime.
Buzz Neutral Newbie November 13, 2003 Share November 13, 2003 Yup plus the maintenance costs for the older car might kill you whereas for the current crop of korean cars you get at least free servicing and warranty. ↡ Advertisement
