It is up to you what you want to use your $$ for. Its a 4 figure sum to change the ECU for a Merc btw. sweatdrop.gif

The magnets will improve torque and response. Have used all 3 before...in-line, in-tank, magnets. tongue.gif

stuffs like HVS & ecotek should be wat u are looking for. the price of the broquet maybe high, but other products MAY not offer money back if it doesn't work

hi..im interesting in installing broquet..the installation can be DIYor haf to be installed by mechanics?hw much does it cost?im driving a ford mondeo..

If you are referring to the in-line version, I strongly recommend that you DO NOT install it yourself. You are going to have to tinker around with your fuel line, and if not installed properly would pose risk of fire.

For cost, there are multiple models - ranging from Boostmaster 30 to Top Fueler Racing. Costs I believe would be from around $500 to $800 plus.

I advise you not to get the Broquet. Tin pellet catalysts have a very sorry past and will never perform the way lead has done for fuel. Well, until lead was banned, there was a resurgence of tin pellet catalysts because they are legal, but trust me they are useless.

The Federation of Britsh Historic Vehicle Clubs conducted tests so that collections of historic vehicles like Morris Minors can go to shows by themselves. Only ones they recommend are liquid additives mixed with fuel, based on either phosphorous or manganese.

None were magnetic or tin pellet based.

Broquet is a waste of money.

Check the report here.

I've tried it before... but I don't find that it's useful at all... but I've come across pple that find it ok.

The worst part is that to install the Broquet... they'll have to cut your fuel line... and frankly... I don't like that idea....

Just my personal opinion.

i have the DIY DPS but still havent installed yet... perhaps u should wait a while more to get more feedbacks for the DIY HVS... check SHC regularly... dun wanna risk fire under ur bonnet.. and i'm not too confident that the plastic box can tahan the heat.. maybe u should test test first.. :)

icic..same...gg to haf it installed later...

i ordered the 20bucks 1...premium box is for more high range torque right?thus i ordered the 20bucks one which is for more low and mid range torque

i think ur 20bucks one is DIY HVS... mine's DIY DPS... different..mine has no capacitors inside.. onli juz a foil and some gauss... hence onli 15..

btw bro, remember to feedback on the results after u try it.. i'm gonna install my dps myself next week.. then see if have effect or not...

One tuner who did a dyno with and without Broquet says there is not gain in term of horses & torque [shakehead] . Fuel saving not sure. [confused]

Yes, I believe that these Broquets and whachamightcallit are nothing. Resurfacing of old technology (tin catalysts from the cold Russian front in WWII) to whimsical (magnets).

Buddy Club and NASA A/C oils don't boost power but they do make your airconditioner work better. HVS and DPS can give you a bigger spark but if you want even bigger sparks for better idling and power, get capacitance induction or electronic induction stuff from MSD or HKS. They are good stuff but very expensive. About twice or more the cost of the original HVS.

Snails will give you even more torque and power if you want to consider the engineering challenge of fitting one or two (!! [sly] ) into your car. But you can kiss fuel economy goodbye.

BTW, do you know that your fuel economy improves when you are monitoring it? Somehow, your driving style will become more fuel conscious when you are monitoring it. So actually the cheapest way to get fuel economy is to monitor it. [laugh]

I guess all this add-on will give you a smoother ride and maybe save a ted of fuel. You're right about monitoring the fuel consumption. I've been doing it since day 1 I got my ride. I tends to be light footed once I see the fuel consumption goes up. Have your ever heard of performance car save fuel?? Fat hope!! [laugh][laugh]
