Koolaba 1st Gear October 25, 2003 Share October 25, 2003 Areoplane sound is caused by: 1. Improper cabling 2. improper grounding of eqpt Ask your installer to check if the signal cables like RCA and spkr wires cross their path with ground and power cables. Kylelam77 Neutral Newbie October 25, 2003 Share October 25, 2003 listen to koolaba. I also had this problem not too long ago after installing ice on my new car. turns out the front cabling ran too close to those tiny power cables under the glove compartment. Else, it could be the RCA cables that is giving this problem. Also could be improper grounding. Best to let ur installer check.
Roverboy 1st Gear October 25, 2003 Author Share October 25, 2003 cos before they install they said my setup may have aeroplane sound cos those things not bought from them.so is workmanship problem not eqpt problem???

Kylelam77 Neutral Newbie October 27, 2003 Share October 27, 2003 tat is a load of bull.... more likely its their workmanship than anything else.
Koolaba 1st Gear October 27, 2003 Share October 27, 2003 Does the aeroplane sound surface before or after the visit to the installer?
Silver_z 1st Gear October 29, 2003 Share October 29, 2003 Ask your installer to pull the sound cable via the roof, rather than the floor.
Silver_z 1st Gear October 29, 2003 Share October 29, 2003 Try not to use those expensive RCA cables. Those cables are so good that they will always pick up such interference. This is a cheap alternative, unless you have too much money to mess around with it.
En0203 2nd Gear October 29, 2003 Share October 29, 2003 another cheap alternative would be to install a small device that cuts out the aeroplane sound... but sorry i forgot the name of the device liao, maybe some expert here knows the name or u can ask ur ice installer? i have one installed in my beetle and it does the job pretty well
