Good tips! Thanks. I was at Stamford on Sunday but did not buy. Any info/comments on the Falken ZE512? Appreciate your input.

Hi Susa,

Have tried the Falken Azenis ST115 only and not the ZE512 though...so cant comment on it. paiseh unsure.gif

Perhaps our fellow members who have tried the ZE512 can provide their feedback ? gossip.gif

Hi there Audiorook,

The ST115's are quite quiet initially....but after after going through about 30%-40% of the thread...I found them getting noisier. Grip is quite good though. However, do note that the tyres tested were 16" tyres and the road noise generated is subjective..depending on what car you are driving. tongue.gif

If you are looking at ST115...you can also try and find out more about the ZIEX512 or the ES100. nod.gif

Hi,

Your comments on noisier after 30-40% seems to concur with most feedbacks that I got so far. Some even say that the ST115 doesnt last long. Of course, the Grip is good, especially in wet conditions, correct?

Someone also recommended the ZIEX512 and ES100. But maybe I would like to keep the 15inch sizing... me only driving MPV family car, Ipsum. Not into fast speed. Only fast speed is 115km/h on the NS highway. So I wan to be confident and safe even when it rains on the NS highway.

Hi Audiorook,

Yup, the tyres are fine when in the wet, as long as youre not going over 80km/h. sweatdrop.gif

You might also want to take a look at the Bridgestone Turanza GR80 tyres too. nod.gif

So, you dun think the ST115 will perform well above 80km/h? My consideration for tyre upgrade is that I may be doing 90-100km/h on the NS highway when it rains (situation permitting). As I have seen good reviews of the wet traction and performance of the ST115, as compared to the ZIEX512, I thought that would be a good choice.

Of course the GR80 has also have a fair share of good review. However, the reviewers were all invited to the Bridgestone event, so would they be a little biased??

Anyway, does anyone who have experience on the GR80?

Neutral Newbie

Do you have experience with Pilot Precedas and G3? How does they compare in wet & dry performance and noise level? I'm thinking between these 2 for my next set of tyres. G3 I tried on my previous ride. Great grip in dry/wet. But found them a bit noisy. Is Preceda any quieter?

90-1000km/h in the wet on ST115 should be fine..should have clarified when I mentioned not above 80km/h...I meant if you were to go thru puddles of water at that kind of speed. nod.gif Otherwise, they should be fine. tongue.gif

As for the GR80, hard to say if they are really good or not since I have not tried them. Best to ask around from those who have tried them. gossip.gif

Yup...have driven a car with G3 tyres before changing them to Pilot Preceda tyres. nod.gif The G3 tends to tramline a bit, and I find them slightly noisier than the Precedas also. Between these 2, personally, I would go for the Precedas. Looks good too. wink.gif

Price wise, a set of 17" tyres cost ~S$1000. sweatdrop.gif

Having said that, do note that the term 'noisy' is subjective, maybe I going deaf and cant hear the road noise or the car is sound proofed or I'm playing my music too loudly. tongue.giflaugh.gif
