Turbobrick Neutral Newbie October 10, 2003 Share October 10, 2003 Hey KB, Ben used both 3M and STP for his Spacey's firewall last time and he commented that the 3M stuff feels more brittle compare to STP's more elastic texture.

The salesperson told me rustproofing is not necessary. ================================================================================ = Hi See Heng, When did you get yours?? Is this you first Nissan?? I got mine in late Sep 2003, and paid $68k for my 1.6 Ex Saloon Manual. Paid an additional $600 to get the Hyperoptik applied. Previously owned a Hyundai 1.3 Ascent Manual. Jimmyl Neutral Newbie November 27, 2003 Share November 27, 2003 Don't fry me for this guys. If your car don't come with some rust proof, then best to get it done once. Then only renew if you had an accident. Anyone can DIY but only the galvanised steel(which does not rust easily) is protected. Tuff-Cote for example emaphaise on the welding joints which is not galvanised. At the end of the day, it depends on how long you intend to keep the car. For 3 to 5 years, the rust won't kill your car but for a long time, best to maintain the rust proof. Hyundai cars comes with tuff-cote plus sound clad, maybe yours also? Seeheng Neutral Newbie November 27, 2003 Share November 27, 2003 no problem except the recall exercise in 2001. Reason for change is to take advantage of the lower depreciation. I am paying a bit less overall.

This is on top of the recall exercise they did this year-2003 to fix the "engine stall" problem, caused by faulty sensors.
