Subwoofer positioning

hi guys...watz the best position for positioning the subwoofer... facing up.... facing rear... facing u.. or side by side...

My understanding is that it shouldn't matter because the low frequency of the bass is not directional. This is true for home theater systems and it should apply to cars as well though I could be wrong.sunny.gif

i still need to get my front component up first before i can use it... using a free lousy bandpass box now..giving out some crap sound... ahhaha so was wondering if any position could help in the sound

U could try placing the woofer cone facing down on the floor of yr van. But leave a small gap of at least 2 inches.

 

I find that such placement can improve on the tightness and accuracy of the bass.

if i remember correctly, you are driving a toyota van. it is very very difficult to find a good location as the sound will echo through the rear of the van thus creating less than ideal bass.

 

rather than try to play with the positioning of the subs, perhaps you should try to place some sound proofing material around the rear panels, i'm sure that will help quite a bit.

 

long time no see, what have you done to your sound system, come to meet up let us listen, may be able to offer better advice.
