Hi, I went to AutoBac for advice on installation of Amp and Woofer. The Amp is used for connection to my 2 front speakers while the Woofer has a built-in AMp.

Breakdown of the quote. Hope you guys can help to see whether it is reasonable.

 

AutoBacs.

 

KENWOOD WOOFER (Built-in AMP) = $410

JBL 2CHANNEL AMP = $130

TWISTER AMP WIRES = $60

INSTALLATION = $120

 

Total : $720.

Anyway, I went to AutoTrend to check out a more or less simliar setup and found it to be around $600plus. (Maybe $50 less)... Did a check on pinliang and the price was well.. so so too... All these 3 offered me systems roughly the same....price...I also did compare with my friend (who basically was using the same setup as me minus the AMP.) and his was slighter cheaper than mine by around $100.

Anyway, here's my brief rundown on the cost and service provided... (purpose of sharing is so that newbies can compare price of similar setup...and also for pple to tell me whether i kenna "chopped carrot" ..haha.)

 

1) SPL Z2X-400 2Ch AMP - $280 $230

2) TWISTER CABLE KIT - $80 $60

3) KENWOOD KSC-WA82RC SUBWOOFER - $448 $410

4) INSTALLATION COST - $120 (INCL. TUNING BY AUTOS)

 

I was there to witness the whole process and found the $120 dollars for installation quite worth 'coz the mechanic (SENG) did a good job.. with it and he took around 4hrs to do...Tire jacking...finding how to route the wire from cabin to engine power etc.

of Coz, AUTOS-tuned the car for me ... and Overall, the sound i got from his tuneup is great.. and I'm quite satisfied in paying $820. (oh I forgot, I got $45 dollars voucher on top of that from the redemption points which can be utilised for my any purchase at AutoBacs next time).

 

Final Verdict : No Regrets unless someone tells me that i overpaid by >$100 !! ..then i will feel very painful.
