We hv a discussion on this early this year if i remember correctly. Do a search under Jap Talk with word "Liana".

My personal experience with my Oct 2003 Liana 1.3 manual sedan.

Liana is not a performance car, so no chance fr speed thrills. It is a bit heavy fr its capacity. Despite so, do not recommend getting a 1.6 as there are better 1.6 elsewhere. Given the heavier body, Liana is more stable than the Ignis or Swift in my humble opinion. Pick up is slow, but once it touches 50km/hr, the metre moves up smoothly. The speedometer is digital which some drivers dun like.

Some find the car cute but some find it ugly because of the height. With this mixed feeling, no impressive look so to speak. Liana is very family and easy to handle. Interior is spacious fr its size. No crampy feeling at the rear. 420L of boot storage, no problem with a few golf bags.

As in separate thread on sitting posture, Liana do not allow you to drive in the "lying down posture".

I pump Shell Fusion, which is 95 octane fr other petrol brand. Running 70% expressway and 30% rural, fuel consumption is abt 12km/l.

Read somewhere Liana is rated "several stars" fr crash safety. Probably you can find this in the other thread.

Do not know if it is due to the height or the suspension. Liana ia a bit shaky. So dun think of hanky panky at the rear. [laugh]

from picture, the Liana looks quite okie,,,but when u faced it on the road...

It The 4-door version) is quite err,,,,unsightly. Probably due to its height and narrower body. The 5-door version is okie.

No offence to those who is driving the 4-door version. [shakehead]

the 5-door very nice......

the 4-door is okay, but i got a bit bored after looking at it a few times......also, there is a resemblance to the hyundai accent.

I am seriously contemplating getting this car to reaplce my COE AE101. I would go for the hatchback 1.6 auto, but most likely to settle for the 1.3M cause trying to minimise cost....

I feel that the hatch looks like a mini MPV...the sedan reminds me of the Toyota Echo, with it's high stance... shocked.gif

This one looks kinda cool with the bodykit:

Hi...my Liana 5-dr 1.6 auto coming on Jan [;)]

wife like Liana 'cos she like the MPV look which i can not afford a 'real MPV' :)

new model with a sporty front grille which i do not like...but i like the new interior (dashbox, analog meter, 2 color-tone seat)....

browse thru the web and saw a lot of Liana accessories in Japan / europe....

Pro:

quite spacious interior

nice roundish exterior (5-dr). don like the 4-dr

probably the cheapest japanese hatch locally

Con:

wind noise, road noise, engine noise quite obvious

average to low fuel economy (1.6L auto doing 10-11km/L, 70(e'way)/30(urb))

Price easily matched by the more popular Sunny or Corolla
