Just managed to put a dent in my rear bumber while reversing into a hidden beam. Is anyone able to recommend a good place to install a reverse sensor for the Octavia? Hopefully they've worked on an Octavia before.

Thanks!

what kind of sensor you are looking for?

simple beep type? simple beep type with visual indicator? voice type?

alamak, a lot leh. simple beep type is about $130, but quality and reaction time is like a gamble. mine is damn slow, fitted by JTA.

saw a nice one at my workshop, simple beep with visual indicator (LED bars), quite nice but at $200 plus.

I've got the concealed type install on my Octy. Works well, even detects objects on the side of the bumper because the sensor is a continuous strip that extends about 10" from side to side. Cost $230. Can get it done at Leader Auto Blk 844 Sim Avenue #01-708. Tel 67466931 / 96266033. Look for Francis or William (boss). They have done several Octy's and the service is good.

Dear all, thanks for the info. I'll go take a look at the one at Leader Auto. Aren't they the ones who did the stereos for JTA initially? But first I got to fix the dent! Drats!

Yup, they are the same people who did the power window for the first few batches of Octys. They supplied decent quality equipment, that's why you don't hear older classic owners complaining about weak and lousy power window.

JTA then changed to some cheap "assh#le" located after Katong Shopping Centre. BTW, my Octy's power window is from the cheap "assh#le" and it jammmed 3 times in two months.

Contacted Walter from JTA to find out who they had used because I wanted someone with experience on Octys. Walter gave me Leader Auto's address. Went to Leader Auto to get power window motor and mechanism replaced. Found their service good, so went back again some time later for reverse sensor.

Me too, recently found a deep scratch about 2" long on the right rear near the petrol cap. Looked like some idiot [rifle] was carrying something sharp and was walking between cars. DIY touch up with paint of almost same colour. On close look still very obvious, but from afar still ok.

Autobacs. It's stated as VW Red and it looked pretty close. I later discovered that it's meant for the VW Golf Red, which is actually a slighty darker shade. Anyway, as I said, looks close enough from afar.

should be JTA's installed one. Mine headache with it is that it is damn bloody retarted. delay is almost a sec. So it is back to the old method of looking backwards for those unfarmiliar parking space for me.

If got some cash change it, it might save your some re-spraying $$$. Not expensive in fact, about 130 to 140 for those normal type like ours.
