I've seen Jap/HK car magazines on the insulation of air filter box or the open cone filter.

Most of them have stainless steel sheet as the body frame. My question is, stainless steel heat up fast, so is it recommended ?

I've currently insulated my air filter box with 9mm Armaflex foam sheet. Should I take one step more and build a stainless steel frame around it ?

I think most of them use aluminium? not stainless steel....but maybe they use ss when display for show only? I asked one guy who featured his car on cardomain.com and he is using aluminium sheet.

What type of foam do you use? Where can I get some of this foam?

Thanks bro.

Armaflex

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flexible, closed cell, CFC-free (ozone depletion potential of zero), elastomeric material for the insulation of pipework, ducting and vessels with superior fire performance.

Armaflex has a low thermal conductivity and very high resistance to water vapour transmission and is widely used for condensation control and energy saving.
