Neutral Newbie

Hi Soya ,

R u driving a S40 T4?

was seriously considering the car a couple of months ago

but after many test runs, felt the suspension and

handling a bit too spongy and comfort biased.

Power was great [thumbsup]

i guess the ARB's and suspension upgrade were a

drastic improvement? [sunny]

yep, me T4er. [;)] the car oredi comes wif front & rear arb. in europe, T4s can be factory ordered wif the lowered nivomat chassis which is [thumbsup][thumbsup] . unfortunately, volvos in SG r pitched solely as a luxury/executive car, so we get the softer comfort settings and nivomat cannot be retrofitted. [:p]

but the good news is that the strut bar does improve things quite a bit and many T4ers worldwide swear by it. now, the ride is really nice; comfy (not jiggly like most performance sedans) yet has reasonably sharp turn-in. [thumbsup]

Now talk about DIY! You're one level above! You're performance parts DIY too! [thumbsup][thumbsup]

Not many people with have the guts, the imagination or the know how to do it. [thumbsup]

I designed the ARB and then give it to engineering w/shop to machine the parts. All Stainless steel but coloured it to blend with interior.

For front strut bar to be fitted in the engine bay, which material is better in terms of being more durable and more resistent to the heat from the engine bay - aluminium or steel?
