I can't give a fair comparision as my previous tyre was 205 compared to now which is 225. But in terms of dry lateral grip, I find the Preceda is very good, but this could be because of the fact that it is 225. Wet weather performance the F1GSD3 is better, it cuts puddles more confidently. But the Preceda's grip is actually very good, considering that the tyre is very quiet, way quieter than the F1 even with 225 width.

The main factor for me was the comfort level and the preceda has a softer sidewall, making it more comfy for me.

i bought it a week ago. paid $150 per piece for 16" at a shop in bukit batok. More grip and better steering to my previous contential premium contact but noise level the same. Interestingly, although i read in torque's magazine's review that the 16" tyres are made in Thailand, my tyres sidewall actually state "Made in Japan". This is also what the shop owner claimed. Anyway, what's the diff between thai and japanese made?

Hi Phalanx,

Im using 205/55/16 Gsd3's, its better than my oem firestones

which had plenty of thread left but were not very good in the wet.

However, i think the Gsd3 has hard sidewalls as its not that comfortable..

well i suppose its hard to find a all round quiet UHP tire... all though pple have raved abt the CSC 2 as QUIET, GRIPPY, LIGHT and GOOD AQUAPLANING resistance.

I have replaced my Good Year NCT 5 with the Preceda 2 weeks ago and it is fantastic compared to my GY. It is much queiter and the grip is good, mine was made in Japan though.

Can also call this shop Soon Tyres to check the price, they gave me a really good deal for Turanza GR-80 tyres, Shop is at Tan Boon Liat Building (drive to the back) near Zion Rd. Ask for Ah Ann at 67334598. They're a Michelin dealer. Only small drawback is got to pay $1 for parking!
