Hi,

Currently using them on my MY03 Impreza. Traction AA, Threadware 240, Noise slightly louder than my previous Aspec Db. Overall its a fantastic tyre!

Thanks for replying. what about the comfort level? is the sidewall soft? More comfortable than the AspecDB?

Wet weather performance?

Comfort is good as in similar to aspec Db, this is probably due to the sidewall being rather soft as compared to G3 and other high performance tyres.

Wet weather performance to me is also good, driving in the wet i can drive through puddles at a rather high speed and yet will hardly feel any signs of aquaplanning. all i can hear is the sound of water splashing. Its like i can drive as if its dry weather but of course if its deep pools of water than its a different story lah!

sorry if my explanation is rather messed up, feeling kinda sleepy.. [sweatdrop]

No no...it's clear. Thanks for the feedback [thumbsup]

Currently thinking of a couple of models. Preceda, Pirelli P7, CSC2...All with soft sidewalls.

actually you can jus give ur list to the tyre shop guy, he will surely give you a good recommendation. i had my own list and went to several tyre shops, all recommended preceda so its kinda hard to doubt so many shops' opinions.

alternatively, you can try the Dunlop SP9000, i heard its a one of the more quiet performance tyres around with a relatvely soft sidewall.

Stiffer sidewalls usually mean better handling as the tyre flexes less. But when the sidewall is soft, it becomes more "malleable", being able to absorb irregularities on the road better. Just imagine this, if your tyre has less air and is softer, somehow it seems more comfortable over irregularities as the tyres are allowed to absorb shocks. But when you pump high pressure and the tyre is very hard, it becomes uncomfortable. Same goes with the stiffness of the sidewalls.

With regards to noise, it depends on the thread pattern. More aggressive patterns usually mean better performance but noisy and vice versa.

I've got them too, just installed them a couple of weeks ago. I believe it is made in Thailand. My previous tyres, the Goodyear F1 GSD3 was made in Germany. As far as the Michelin tyres are concerned, I don't see any drop in quality or anything. In fact, I would believe that it is made in Europe if I did not know firsthand that they were made in Thailand.

Anyway, according to Michelin, they give warranty to their tyres so it is of no concern to me. But the Preceda is good, quiet, dry/wet grip, aquaplaning is also less.

The best thing is still the noise or the lack of noise for that matter...

Thank you.....

Was looking ard for Yokohama AVS DB last week until i saw this Michelin.

Got attracted by its very broad shoulder look & it is highly recommended by the tyre shop. Price also only slightly more than Yoko.

Will source ard for this tyre...

BTW, may i know where you got yr. set from?

thnx...
