Invest in a rubber hose. I have a rubber hose 60 ft long from my kitchen down to my car - 4 storey. Use it now and then for a thorough wash. Once used for flushing radiator.

why don't you try using Opt No rinse wash? one pail of water will wash your car external surface. No need to rinse. just wash. then dry. no need to rinse off.

just put a grit guard in the pail to trap the bigger dirt particles at the bottom of the pail if you want.

but i'll reommend this method if your car is not too dirty.

if you can better still use the 2 pail method.

Bros,

my car already just gone thru a PPS. I would not want to do any waxing or polishing just a normal wash once a week.

I have already read this quite an old but interesting post but I have a few "noob" questions to ask if you don't mind.

1) When washing your car what should you use i.e. a sponge or cloth and can anyone provide more info on what type of sponge or cloth to use and where can they be bought?

2) Can I also use a normal "kitchen cloth" to dry the wash with or again do you need the microfibre thingy to dry it with so that it won't "peel" the PPS?

Thanks!

Though not very experienced myself but think I can answer your questions.

==> use a soft sponge that can absorb lots of water, or better still use a mitt. I have one of those Meguiars wash mitt/sponge which is quite safe.

2) Can I also use a normal "kitchen cloth" to dry the wash with or again do you need the microfibre thingy to dry it with so that it won't "peel" the PPS?

==> You can use a "kitchen cloth" which is very clean but it is much better if you use a high water absorbent chamoi or microfibre cloth. Remember, never wipe dry, always dap dry or you will introduce swirl marks.
