It does help in stabilising the engine and gear shift changing will be much smoother. Now is to how to do it and mount damper.

usually will be mounted to the top where there is a hook for engine support during overhaul and the other point usually to the top of the suspension mounting with a strong bracket....maybe you can look at the AR156SW for some idea, I believe they came stock with it...

I have found another way of stopping the engine from rocking during gear changes and will try to stop it to ensure smooth gear changes. If not will try R to see if can get dampers.

dampers will be the better way out, IMO.

In fact, there is a mount fixed below engine block but it is flexible. Now trying to fix this movement if not dampers will be added.

It's meant to be that way, if it's non-flexible, all the vibration will goes to the chassie, just like some of the fixed engine mount on Harleys sly.gif

I've just ordered a set of Energy Suspension Engine Mount Inserts for my car.

There is a kind called a "torque brace", which simply a metal rod connecting your engine block to the chassis. I do not recommended this, because your engine will still vibrate on the soft engine mount and cause alot of stress on the torque brace and chassis.

The other kind is motor mount inserts. It is a plastic polymer version of your rubber motor mounts. You only need to support your engine with a jack, pop out the old rubber, and put in the plastic inserts. I estimate install procedure to be about 20 mins.

Alot of people just pour polyurethane mix directly into the engine support. It is very cheap, you can choose the stiffness but you need to take out the engine mounts one at a time. Usually, pre molded aftermarket inserts are very stiff for high performance use.

I've test driven a Corolla with the upgrade, it makes a big difference with gear changes. HOWEVER, there'll be definitely an increase in vibration inside the car.

Maybe it good for you to try and narrow down the cause of the engine vibration rather than to try to arrest it. If the vibration is not properly reduce ,absorded or cancelled out then some component will have to give way!!
