Thanks Bro, I have 2 bad weeks with all the China team and bosses over here. So, Friday only left with one China guys which we took him for the weekend to my friend's house and I can get away for 2 days.

Not I slip and fell on, but during the quake, someone on motorcycle slip and hit my rear bumper 😂

When I reach office after my lunch, I was thinking it is power outage as my staffs were sitting outside. Then I couldn't believe it when they told me earthquake. I shouted at them and ask "Where have earthquake? I stand here in most morning and when big trucks pass by, the floor rattle a bit lah" 😂

I was so amused by them and I told them someone hit my rear bumper due to earthquake. Then messages come all in to say earthquake. It was then I realized and believe it. :XD:

Maybe you should suscribe to Earthquake Notification Service https://earthquake.usgs.gov/ens/

Quickly Run,destroy Evidence.

If I'm the PE , construction manager etc who signed off the designs and work,  I'd be very careful now with my daily activities.

Maybe volunteer report to police request protection.

But then... if they aren't Thai,  also good chance run road liao.

It is not in earthquake zone

Based on what professional engineers and builders are saying. The chief culprit is likely the design. It is widely used in non earthquake zones but not in places like Taiwan and Japan.  It is thus not designed to withstand such a earthquake, which is likely amplified and magnified by the marine clay underneath the city.

As for why other completed buildings did not collapse, there are probably contributing factors. Curiously waiting for the report.

Interesting, there is no official report of the intensity (not magnitude) of the shaking on the Modified Mercalli Intensity scale from BKK authority. It doesn't look low.

That’s quite close to what we did. Where were you staying at? A neighbour at I think third or fourth floor said he was looking out of his window which was just at the height of street lamp n it was swaying, and that was when he got his family to go down.

I was at my ex-gf (now wife) place, around Boon Keng area 😅

With the weather for next few weeks forecasting to be hovering around 35dc, and not financially able to deal with the aftermath, the bodies trapped under the rubber is rumored to be giving out rotten smell already. And with bad reputation of scam operations all along, people are not that willing to donate. Myanmar really in deep trouble now.

This one got subtitle.

When he say will investigate and everything done in open. He wasn't joking.

He may have expected some political pressure. So used the press as armour.

The press took his word and ran with reporting.

Interesting point I read, in the story about the Korean jumping from one tower to another via the famed highline breaking bridge to find his wife and daughter.......

Somebody asked the architect/builder on the bridge safety, and he mentioned it was cantilevered and only connected on one tower anyway. There was a loose fitting to join the bridge to the second tower, but it was designed to separate "in case of earthquake" so, at least one person thought something like this would happen.

Lucky the Korean guy made it across before it broke too.
