Hi, I'm driving mk8 1.5etsi. I.got this weird sound appear when shift to D after you released the Ebrake. It only happens after collecting the car back from VW. They claims is normal but tested mk8.5 no sound. Anyone have this issue before and can advise?

need more details. mileage? grinding sound? click / cluck sound?

AD servicing is like that. they follow the maintenance list and rely on scanning codes. if no codes, they will say its ok.

Why you need to deactivate parking brake then switch to drive ah?

Your car doesn’t release the parking brake automatically when you simply just switch to drive and depress the accelerator to move off?

The E Brake don't release even after engage to D and move. As you can see,  there are two button,  one is e brake another is P button. The sound appear when engaging D gear.

System don't have auto ebrake engage function. I have tested mk8.5, no sound when engage to D after releasing e brake.

you should check with AD if there is any software update causing this issue.

Curious...was the engine in idle mode during that 10mins or you waited 10mins to restart the car from cold to get rid of the lights?
