Carbon82 Moderator March 5 Author Share March 5 Much like a bloated, XL Polestar 2! Drag coefficient(Cd) of 0.25–the best ever in Volvo Cars’ history and a competitive figure for a large sedan. Digital Key Plus allowing easy access to your car with Phone, Apple Watch or Android phone On the safety front, the Swedish EV comes with an advanced array of sensors including one lidar, five radars, seven cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors. According to Volvo, the sensor set enables the car to “see” beyond human range to avoid collisions and hazards on the road. There’s also an industry-first driver understanding system as standard, which can detect when the driver is no longer focusing on the road and step in to help. Furthermore, the ES90 has a full-cabin occupant sensing system that ensures nobody gets left behind, especially on very hot days. Volvo says the system can sense submillimeter scale movement, such as the soft breathing of a baby, and alert the driver that there is someone in the car. Tying all of these safety systems together is a dual Nvidia Drive AGX Orin chip configuration, which makes the ES90 the most powerful car Volvo has ever created in terms of core computing capacity, according to Anders Bell, the automaker’s chief engineering and technology officer.

It's a hatch! I like. But the side profile at the hatch looks dumpy like tortoise shell. Maybe if got EV90 wagon then consider. I used to drive the 2nd gen Skoda Superb with twin boot setup. Loading and unloading of bulky item such as fish tank and Ikea loot is a breeze. The Zeekr 009 and X we're seeing here isn't exactly cheap compared to the Continental makes 😁 Err just look at the price difference between the EX30 & X. That's already alot of saving. I am wondering what will be the price for EM90 when it lands on our shore... Basing on Wearnes pricing strategy, easily >$0.5m (or even closer to Lexus LM). How much is X retailing over at Premium BEV? On 3/5/2025 at 9:32 PM, Volvobrick said: It's a hatch! I like. But the side profile at the hatch looks dumpy like tortoise shell. And if you take a closer look, with the added brake lights along the side of the rear windscreen, I suspect visibility through the rear windscreen will be impacted. Given that the car is sitting higher due to the battery pack under the chassis, the wagon would look possibly very much like a SUV, might as well as get the upcoming EX60?

Now that you reminded me of that car. That car was a standout imo because of it's boot design during its day. Very rare in it's segment. In fact I think it's the one and only. The next closest is probably the BMW 6 series GT but it's more of a conventional rear hatch, nothing like the twin boot of the Superb. EX30 and X in terms of listed price there used to be a difference as you've mentioned, but that's because of the overtrade trick that conti brands like BMW, MB, Volvo, Audi likes to do. But actual selling prices after nego both are almost neck to neck today. EX30 list price is 225k, X is 229k on SGCM now. I guess its down to which design you like better. I've asked as I kaypo and just test drove the EX30 the other day when I was at their showroom. EM90 can forget it as Volvo says it's LHD and for China only. Rear passenger space EX30 is worse compared to my current XC40 recharge. Also, you have to get used to almost all controls thru the touchscreen and no driver display in front of you ala Tesla. But they are still not as crazy as Tesla to remove indicator stalks completely. You also don't sit as high up as the XC40, it's definitely lower. Almost like a slightly elevated hot hatch. What I like most about the EX30 is it's RWD, lighter and slightly more power than the XC40 Recharge. The driving feel is just zippyier. It shows as it is a platform designed to be for EV only, rather than the XC40 platform which has to be an ICE, PHEV or EV.
