All gimmicks. The grid can't support so many fast chargers without massive upgrades. Or going to certain niche locations for speciality chargers. So if you have a 800V car and you plug into such DC charger, you get 800V x 200A = 160,000W = 160kW (capped at 150kW at charger side) 800V also means the car can be made lighter (as the cabling is thinner and lighter since current don't have to be that high) and less heat loss generated while charging, all due to less current required to hit higher charging power. 9 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
