@SGCM928

yea fully agreed. I was shopping around and decided to go for an EV MPV instead at this pricing for a 7 seater. no brainer as the features are much much better.

reminds me of 3 years ago when Korean cars upped their game to be the best value for money, now it's the china EVs doing the same.

Komoco is doing themselves a disfavor by pricing the hybrid Santa Fe at such high price, where many higher end EVs can be had for less.

If one need a 7 seater with good (SUV like) visibility, Denza D9 (around $280k), Maxus Mifa 7 (around $230k), or on the lower end of the spectrum, the BYD M6 (around $170k).

There's a reason why EV account for one third of new car sold here in 2024, and the number is set to grow further this year. But things might change if the EEAI is reduced or removed by end of the year.

Different la. SUV look garang. Santa Fe wanna aim Land Rover.

If you want a seven-seater to ferry seven people, don't buy SUV. Most of them useless one. Look fierce only.

Saw the santa fe at the carpark, the current design looks like bigger and more fierce than previous model.

no EV can be loot at 2 tonne vehicle down the track and save on road tax of ICE equivalent....

if uptake low in future they probably start to lower price or continue to bleed

with the halting of Diesel. Hybrid should most likely be the runaway best seller soon...

Unfortunately for many hybrids, especially Toyota and even their Lexus models, CVT is the main transmission and it's really a lot of drone like sounds that makes driving a drag. I know some hybrids from honda and KiA use DCT.

Compared to a Hybrid-CVT, an EV would likely be more enjoyable.

Honda has no transmission.

Low speed like EV.

Your comparison makes the EV look super cheap and good buys.

Its really crazy to get a Korean car at 300k (can get a 3 room HDB flat that have at least another 50 years lease)

Totally agree.  I am now experiencing a buyer remorse after ordering a new ride 2 days ago, my car is due in Sep, had been waiting for COE to drop and thinking to drive til the end and worse case renew COE.   Then last week receive agent text messages on 2-day CNY open house on 1&2 Feb with special discounts, go see and the rest is history.

Especially to think of COE prices may drop in the next 12-18months, buying a new car now is really not a wise decision. 😔  I'm doomed.

Think of it positively. You have a new ride.

older one will be prone to more problems

No need to think so much esp if you have already committed on a new car liao. Just buy anytime when you are ready to buy. There is no such thing when it is wise or not wise. Ownself happy can liao.

What car you have ordered? How come the 2-day CNY open house can attract you to buy.

That's why I said buyer remorse ma.... haven't really made up my mind to renew COE or buy a new one or downgrade to BMW, was planning to work another 2-3years and retire and enjoy life.   Look at 大S, 48 years old already up lorry.

The price at the CNY promo is really better than the Carshow in January, about another 10K discount after the overtrade for my current ride.
