High Court ruled that pedestrian has a duty of care similar to jaywalker regardless of pedestrian or not.

Both will have blame. Just the proportion of each. Like in vehicle to vehicle accident. Doesn’t always mean if you rear end someone you are 100% at fault.

Objective observation:

Ask for input/ contribution - not happy.

Don't ask just go ahead - also not happy.

LOL.

Ask already people give suggestion, the followed by them shooting it down. But some time later magically it was implemented. Happened a few time already.
a very clear example for me was the amber circle pedestrian pavement. LTA gave all sorts of excuses that guard rails cannot be fitted. Now the bloody guard rail is up!

Can understand your frustration. Look on the bright side, at least they eventually came to their senses and took your suggestion.

Maybe the suggestions and feedback come from many people, if only one person feedback, LTA would not be bother?!

But in the end statues can say one thing but the judge will say that the driver still has the duty of care. But at least the sentence will be less severe.

No lawyer, but I think this statue is one reason why the Australian woman was not charged for knocking down and ultimately killing the young girl that cross the road at river valley area.

They will look at the totality of the case.

In that particular incident it was shown that the driver only had 1 second to react.

Because the different utility agencies are taking turns to lay the underground infrastructure.

Extremely inefficient, but extremely huat to the contractors.

Your ideas not workable, unintended consequence, lead to confusion, not cost effective, sir constraints etc etc.

My own LTA ideas? Bestest in the world from the Bestest Department in Singapore to Batam!

Just look at ERP 2.0. Biggest, most components and took longest to develop in the world. Bestest!

Exactly.  There are totally no planning.

Today A want to dig. He just dig. Then close back. Tomorrow B come dig. Then follow by C.

No coordination at all.....

Actually they can dig how many times they want, only if they patch back the hole nice nice. Not always patch so badly.

you first days know different agencies work in their own silo?

even different departments in the same agency work in their own silo?

all incommunicado., much less coordination?

probably the one know best is the contractor, they know no need to patch so nice, cause next week someone else already contracted them to dig again. :D
