Give it out to those who need it the most instead of free for all. We all know the real purpose of COE, and it is not what they publicly claim. COE is meant to control population. ERP is meant to control traffic flow ↡ Advertisement

I would just propose PHV bidders pay 5 times whatever they bid more since their mileage also 5 times average. No conversion from/to PHV. No COE rebat when they dereg early. ARF as per normal. See if COE drop or not! The millionstar cannot say my proposal is complicated right? And they can collect more money from the PHV operators too! No need to thank me. I agree. If property can be classified as commercial, industrial and residential. PHV isn't own by individual then shouldn't be classified as private vehicle. It should be classified as public commercial vehicle, then van and lorry re-classified as industrial vehicles.

Mcscot 5th Gear January 9 Share January 9 These are the latest figures from 2023 and this constitutes 7-8% of the total govt operating budget. If this is removed, where do you think the govt will go and find the money to spend on HealthierSG, CDC vouchers etc. I don't want to say this but COE is an indirect tax on people who can afford to have a car or feel that they need a car. The COE collected is then used to pay for the more needy in the society. I think this is a fair system. IMHO.

With your average speed of 30, that’s 50km/h

In MY, need Vocational Driving License to drive commercial vehicles. In addition, MY requires Sg commercial vehicles to be related to Msia Company. That’s why cannot. Taxi no problem as long as Insurance Geo location includes West Msia ↡ Advertisement
