Yes, have been enjoying every moment while behind the wheel of my T6, nothing to complain so far. Keeping my finger crossed that it will remains problem-free for the next 6 years till eol.

I am in no hurry at all to get a replacement ride. Just looking ahead which shall be a better option when the time comes. In fact everytime after test driving an EV, I still feel my T6 perform better... Ok enough of self advertisement. :D

Ehm, isn't that a loop hole for avoiding the idling charges?

My condo has a joker who incurred the max idling penalty of $200 on 2 - 3 occasions, and each time make appeal to the management committee for waiver. First we gave chance, 50% off (he paid $100), 2nd and 3rd time, we tell him to f*ck off, no sympathy for repeated offender.

That is how we managed the 4 charging points for over 30 EVs in our estate. So far so good, no complain of not enough charging points :a-m1212:

Yes must be harsh. Else people will take advantage. No give face.

I don't think it's a loophole, as long the car is still charging, legitimately they can continue to charge. Until it's 'full' or hit the limit of the car and the charger shows it's no longer charging, then it's considered idle.

Unless there are some malls that stipulate that you can only max charge for 2hrs, and if park longer than that, idle charge will apply, then different story.

Most EV has the ability to control the charging speed for AC.

My lousy EV cannot.. only can set charge limit.

The T5 with mild hybrid FC is surprisingly quite good. Maybe because Aussie mainly countryside and highway driving.  Not many start stop traffic.

Volvo's engines with mild hybrid tech is actually the B5, no longer the T5. Although it remains as a 2.0L 4 cylinder turbo in the B5, the engine is actually VEA (Volvo Engine Architecture) Gen 3 in the mild hybrids. Its auto start/stop sequence is taken care of by the 48V battery and starter generator. B5 in Singapore's context with start/stop traffic is about 10km/l to 11km/l realistically in the XC60 B5 AWD which they are selling now. Go on North South HW cruise at steady pace can do 12km/l to 13km/l.

The T5 is a VEA Gen 2, old school turbo 4-potter with the problematic small support battery taking care of the auto start/stop, which is pretty intrusive in operation. My previous V60 T5 has it.

The B5 is a lot more smoother in its auto start/stop operation and they finally have the good sense to relocate the 48V battery in the boot, rather than the previous support battery located near hot engine bay. This should help in the battery's longevity.

BYD last Dec year end sale to confirm and chop top place.  Went to see the Sealion 7.  Tempted.

My current ride COE till Mar-2026.  Told the BYD SE latest I will buy the Sealion in Dec-2025 in their next year end sale, or any moment if election triggers a COE price drop

@RadX @mersaylee don't curse me leh. I have been thinking for the longest time (since tasting the flavors of Mk V Golf GT) before following my heart to get a twin charged ride.

On the fuel consumption part, mine average around 9.3 - 9.4L / 100Km (10.75 - 10.63Km/L), which I consider very reasonable for a AWD with >315 horsepower. And it really can makan many cars with just a moderate tap on the pedal. [:)]

Now you should see why I hesitate to switch to an EV, although I know the time will come some day.

Curious anyone got this EV? S$310k only for the look of super car with decent performance. Annual road tax is S$3400. Good for those with spare cash for second car.

does look very nice. But based on the overseas review, more like a 2 seater GT car rather than the driving feel of what you normally associate a 2 seater convertible with (mx-5 or or boxster).

Hmm they already tried to reduce the weight. Using NMC battery instead.

Haha...  Your post kinda of resonates with me. It is nice to drive a responsive twin turbo car. Some here keep saying how fast can you go in SG with so many traffic lights.? Knn... Sounds really stupid. Noone is driving fast here. But to be fair, most people are just point a to point b transporter.

Having said that, the Chinese premium EV that are coming will jiat our fossil fuel cars for breakfast, lunch and dinner soon and it may be cheaper by $50k to $100k, we should rejoice in time to come.

Only advantage would be when you go north, you can drive at 140-180kph and overtake with ease using your twin turbos.
But if the EVs tried to do that other than a short burst, they will run out of juice even before melaka. Lol

But yes, in a city, why bother.

No disrespect but you don't need to be driving at 140-180km/h overtaking other vehicles on a highway in the north to enjoy a nicely tuned twin turbo set up in a city state like Singapore.
