Next one is President Tharman apparently I like this program. The society as a whole is actually neuro-diverse, although it is dominated by the neuro-typicals. However, there is 15-20% of people who are neuro-divergent, so it is great to hear their views as well. I hope there is more of such show to create awareness for the neuro-divergent folks. They are not "abnormal", they just need different accommodations (at work and in society) and expectation to let them truly excel in their work and life. Aiyah..... as I always say if I have to accommodate this, and then accommodate that, then in the end, what about me? Who's going to accommodate me? But back to the gurmit interview, it's true we often forget that comedians, even our teachers , and many of such jobs or roles, are just about putting on an act to earn income. Their real life persona may be quite different. Edited January 4 by Sosaria 1

RadX Moderator January 5 Share January 5 Dun get me started....there is a report that more are less tolerant of these folks, along w the handicapped and th elike.... I would say, it comes with the behavior, and the other things around it. Some of them put the 'parsons sick role'persona and the entitlement that goes with it It cuts both ways. I have great respect and admiration for those that go about indepedently, BUT for them to Warrant and seek that things be ":created for them:....sorry....just doesnt cut w me

It also doesnt help that they are being label with some form of disorder. (for eg, ASD as Autism Spectrum Disorder). I feel it should be called as a condition, not disorder. i hope that in time, more pple understand the social model of disability where the “disorder” comes from the lack of appropriate work environment and expectations for the neurodivergent folks to excel in work and life

Man up and face that it is a disability and take proactive action to deal with it internally . Just dun use it as a crutch … that to me has led to the way these negative perceptions have formed. Denial is what I see in these and pls, dun teach me as I have faced stigma in my life as well due to the myriad of conditions I had before so I speak with conviction and experience in this! do what you can do for yourself and NOt depend on others period!
Benarsenal Turbocharged January 5 Author Share January 5 I will only say this. Those who are privileged, should try to be more considerate and understanding of those who are less so. That is how we progress as a society.
