EU universal charger rules come into force

BELGIUM: EU rules requiring all new smartphones, tablets and cameras to use the same charger came into force on Saturday (Dec 28), in a change Brussels said will cut costs and waste.

Sure they can use the same charger and cable; I always mix match but then again some devices can only max quick charge on their own charger and cable combi. Can use other charger but must put up with slower charging.

Finally, EU stopped the Apple nonsense, which was driven by greed.

There are quite a few fast/quick charging protocols which are proprietary, not to mention the cables that is specific to these protocols.

simply put it is just a small step forward, who know maybe another charging method in few years time.
