Honda is a smaller company now compared to BYD.

The one to watch out for is BYD. They have surpassed Nissan and Honda. 10 years ago (2014), BYD's total sales was just 20,972 units - all in China. That's less than 0.5% of their 2024 numbers. BYD has come a long way in the last 10 years.

The next one to watch out for is Geely Group.

2.0 Honda Civic for 233k... one reason why Honda isn't selling well here.. PI MPVs are ok, but the Chinese are killing them..

Siao.. this type of price.

How not to jump boat into a GLA180, GLB180..

The number of GLB180 at my carpark easily more than 10.

That's why Merc is still doing ok...

They have models that people want. And that badge sells well...

The other premium makes are a bit more stress... especially Audi, even their big showroom now has been taken over by a Chinese brand...

The GLB is a fascinating case study that has taken over local market like a storm. Popping up every where on any roads.

7 seater. Looks big, have road presence.

Big badge. Nice grill, 100% more muscular than GLA.

No sane person will choose a Honda Civic/Accord over this.

Unfortunately that's the good part and it ends there.

- Its 120+bhp is seriously underpowered if you plan to even pull a small family of 4. Even less power than a Mazda or Honda City.

- Mexico made, Renault engine. Not that there is anything wrong but...

I think a lot of GLB180s went to tune aftermarket. But how much can you squeeze out of that? Tune until 190bhp?

I think Honda eHEV has instant torque.
It is pure electric drive before 80km/h

Where did Nissan chief pick up his roti prata skills? 😁

Nissan Says 'We Never Stopped' Talking To Honda (https://insideevs.com/news/754635/nissan-honda-partnership-talks-continue/)

The company's incoming CEO says Nissan remains "very open" to partnerships. Here's what that means.

  • Nissan's new CEO is "very open" to partnerships and confirmed that the company is still talking to Honda.
  • Honda and Nissan are working on individual model collaborations, and one executive suggested they could work together on large SUVs.
  • Nissan's old CEO resigning may open the door to further merger talks, too.

They can blame China sales, but now they didnt expect their allies the US to do this to them. 30% of their rev is from the US. Ouch.

Can't trust the Yankies.
