Singpass identifier use nric number.

DBS app use nric

Sgx account use nric

Certificate of clearance from police department also uses nric, name, photo as identifier. (Hmmm..... recently collected a COC on behalf of a family member whom had left singapore  decades ago for canada. Nric number was use as unique identifer) 

on...and...on.....

this statement already wrong... many people can have the same (full) name, but no two person have the same NRIC

This will open up a whole string of problems. Why Govt never think before they do such things one

they already declare dun use IC num for authentication so if private orgs/companies still do is also not their biz liao.

anyway, for most folks ur IC num reveals ur age, and i think a significant portion of the population would not like that to be freely available 😅

Why don't do away all the identity card thingy. No nric. No identity card.

Use tax reference number for all government services. Document like driving licence, electricity bill to prove status of residency.

Everybody flippin' prata now.

Why, then, nobody at high levels speak out against this senseless PDPA policy previously. Over the years, we have been told to mask NRIC numbers and severe punishment awaited those who accidentally leaked NRIC numbers that were collected, in the name of data protection.

Every MIW has been sleeping and unquestioning all the while?

MDDI is headed by Jo Teo, the worst and most clueless minister ever. So why am I not surprised?

But as already mentioned, NRIC is used for SingPass, which holds tons of personal info. Unless they want to completely redo SingPass.

Their argument now apparently is same still applies for private sector, but not for Govt.
