My VEP has reached 5 years. Anyone has done a renewal?  At the JPJ website there is no renewal option. Is it we deactivate the current VEP and apply a new one?

Yours should be the very first few batches, maybe can email them and check at [email protected] In their FAQ only got this.

How can i check if the VEP RFID tag has expired? The vehicle owner can check the VEP RFID Tag expiry date from the online portal. The portal will send a reminder email 6 months prior to the expiry date.

I never registered.  Go in and out without issue.

So the scanner/barrier after chopping passport dont scan the RFID/VEP?  Faked barrier?  In that case I shall not do anything further since it is such a hassle and there is no clear instructions and obviously so many bros have no problem without VEP

If you have VEP RFID, the gantry will auto open, no need to tap

Just use your TnG card.

For me, RFID VEP is useful for paying tolls on NSHW, don't have to come to a full stop, unlike at checkpoints.

I am still using tng card. Using youtrip top up tng app then transfer to tng card.

No issue at all.

Depends on whether the tag works or not... mine doesn't work... so I still have to tap my TnG card... the EZ-Link x TnG card doesn't work with the Road Charge reader... only the original TnG card and the new NFC TnG card works so that the RM20 is deducted... the EZ-Link x TnG card causes an 'Invalid Card' readout but works perfectly on the highway toll gates... go figure...

Eh cannot anyhow say TnG card... you can top up the card via the app if you're using the NFC TnG card... the normal TnG card card cannot to be topped up via the TnG e-wallet app lor...

I've been using for some years, no issue at all, maybe u want to check your tag with them. Previously using the EZ-link TNG for RC can work also, only SG custom side cannot deduct toll, it's a lousy card and they have stopped production after only few years, better off get the new TNG NFC card.

I can't be bothered with the VEP RFID tag anymore cos it expires this year... plus I have to drive to some ulu place to get it tested... very out of the way... I tend to go in very early before 6.00 am and leave before 4.00 pm to avoid getting stuck in jams cos I go in only to run some errands... seldom go in on weekend just to jalan jalan... anyway if need to apply for new one, it's all online plus self service for sticking on the tag... actually my Dad's VEP RFID tag has no issues... he just drives through cos the RFID reader just deducts from his TnG e-wallet... so convenient...

Yeah that lousy EZ-Link x TnG card... mine got this problem with the Road Charge reader... no idea why... right now you know where can top up the original TnG cards? I got myself an NFC TnG card and it's just so convenient...

Actually I'm going to experiment to see if the PayDirect works on my original TnG card - it's supposed to deduct from the TnG e-wallet if the card balance is not enough... not sure if it works for the Road Charge reader... must try the next time I go in... also must try at the highway toll gates... if PayDirect works then I also won't bother to top up my physical card balance cos it will deduct from my TnG e-wallet which is auto-reloaded for my case... that really should be super useful cos no need to find top up machines...
