some pple use the RFID holder to stick on the front windscreen lor...

Super common, shopee selling like hotcakes. Even malaysians themselves also stick on windscreen.

Pasting it on headlamp is like vandalism.

For those going to Sunway Big Box to have tag installed on windscreen, head to Lower Ground level of car park near the hotel (reddish-pink low building next to it) in the west wing. There are no signs pointing to the ramp to the basement. Turn right after the gantry-less car park entrance at street level and you should see the entrance to the ramp.

Process:  hand in appointment slip, have car details verified and tag location confirmed (clean beforehand), collect tag, have it installed. There's a queue at each stage; mine took 20-25min in total

Actually if stick on windscreen or headlamp they cannot detect the RFID, they can still check whether the car is VEP registered using number plate right? As for the toll, just pay using TnG card instead of auto deduct from wallet.

in that case, does it matter whether the RFID tag is working or not?

yes, when exiting the last gantry may not open and u may need to press the help button once it's fully implemented. Don't think will have anyone stationed at the barrier at all times.

Can enter using RFID, TnG or SmartTag and exit via RFID or TnG but NOT exit Smarttag. I think. Never try before.

https://paultan.org/2023/08/27/plus-rfid-toll-payments-work-even-when-you-enter-the-highway-using-smarttag-thanks-to-anpr/#:~:text=Basically when you exit at,read your car's number plate.

So how exactly does this work? Actually this should be of no surprise to us as when we checked back our previous stories covering how the RFID system works, PLUS highway has already said that this was possible. You can click here to read our previous story and scroll down to the question “What happens if I enter using TnG or SmartTAG and exit using RFID, and vice versa?”

Basically when you exit at a RFID lane, the system detects your RFID tag. It then checks to see if the RFID tag has entered the highway using the RFID lane.

If there is no RFID entry record, it falls back onto ANPR, which uses the cameras at the entry toll plaza to read your car’s number plate. If the system detects that the car plate registered to the RFID tag has entered the highway at a certain entry toll plaza, it then matches the journey and calculates the toll rate appropriately. This is why it’s important to register the correct number plate to your RFID tag.

The maximum penalty charge issues that you see on social media usually involve mixing the payment methods the other way around – entering via RFID and exiting via SmartTAG. Because all the more advanced background work only works on the RFID system, you end up with a penalty charge if you use the SmartTAG system to exit.

Enter and exit 2 gantries with the same type of booth is not common sense to people new to driving in Malaysia.

I used to think it is a per entry deduction!
