Malaysia VEP discussion.

I still have not started application for VEP yet, but I intend to drive to Malaysia, maybe some time in 30th December.  Will there be any problem, just get a warning letter with no penalty?  What is the latest update?

I have driven in very recently without VEP. Only the gantry at Tuas side upon return got display the message of no VEP registration done and pls get it done asap. Other than that, no difference at all. Nothing at all.

Has already successfully gotten the VEP done and I'm glad to have done it bcoz with that, I can use the "MyRFID" toll lane (usually right most) when passing thru the toll stations.  That lane is usually less crowded... and also no need to stop my car, wind down window and make payment.

For someone like me who enters M'sia regularly, it makes sense for me to apply for the VEP.  If your intention is to do so, then the "best" place to go have it installed in JB would be Paradigm Mall (Level 7 Carpark).  Process there is pretty efficient.... when I was there. there were about 40+ ppl before me (8 rows of 5pax)... but they were clearing ppl one row at a time, it took me only about an hour while family was enjoying shopping in the mall.  Overall process (i.e. tag installation) was pretty pleasant.

Recently, I have got my Tag from Woodlands VEP center. However, when I went home to log into VEPAMS/TCsens, I was unable to click status 'Acknowledge'. May I know how long do we need to wait to click 'Acknowledge' in order to process with the activation?

IMHO.
Except that they now have the means to capture and record the license plate. 
By their law, VEP is needed - when (before/after) they take actions or gives concession, it is entirely up to them.

They haven't activate the gantry, the last one before u exit out of the custom. That's managed by JPJ and meant for enforcement of outstanding summon before leaving the country.

I can see that the system was able to detect that I have not done the VEP permit. Anyway their minister would have announced if want to enforce. Just wait and see some more.

If need to do, also easy to do now that most have chiong to do it. I have heard from reliable source that it can be done even now in one day, the whole process after registering an account. But I not keen to pull this kind of string.

Gantry after MY immigration on 2nd Link was up and display was off when I drove back to Singapore last week. Maybe being upgraded

It's always up cause haven't really start yet. Once a while they may activate it and be on site.

I kenna before when I tried booking appointment to collect and install. All I saw was blank calendar boxes without option to select time. 

Tried again another few days later with another browser and it was successful. 🤦

We always feedback ask them to improve their backend server and webpage programming so even merge the two separate VEP JPJ websites as 1 portal. Nothing is done for the last many years.

Don’t confuse VEP RFID Tag with TnG RFID Tag and also Smart Tag. There are 3 different thing. For SG cars, we are using VEP RFID Tag, once paste and submit photo, wait for activation email and open your TnG app under RFID which will have your vehicle and tag details and you’re good to go for seamless barrier open at Malaysia checkpoint (JB and Tuas) and NSH tolls under MyRFID Lane. 
 

Top your TnG eWallet and enable Auto-Top with YouTrip or AMAZE card which deduct from wallet so no additional charges.

Just throw in $100-$200 in the wallet, before each trip just check the remaining amount.

So VEP RFID I have already verified and done with VEPAM portal.

As for "open your TnG app under RFID which will have your vehicle and tag details", these details didnt appear for me - it was the first picture I uploaded in my previous post.

Verified doesn’t meant is activated.
