unlikely they can't get as their profit margin is pretty high for the D9.

depends on how many sales and how much they want to close the deal. worst case they ask for top up rather than let u walk away I feel.

They will just give a open cat COE.

They definitely want to gain market share.

I concur. Vantage profit margin is relatively high even for non-guaranteed package.

When I told my colleague that the profit for his new M6 was ~$30K, he just cannot believe it.

To be fair, it's business so making money is necessary for survival.. but I noted it is pretty high compared to the other BYD fleet as you've pointed out, around 30-40k so getting the COE is very possible.

They do have a lot of mouths to feed.. from servicing staff to maintenance of workshops and parts.. all these don't come cheap especially with rental.

There's free servicing for 10 years so some profit may only come from the replacement of wear and tear.. and if you add in possible battery replacement, which would be part of costs, the profits are likely just reasonable. Just that the margin serves as a buffer for all these.

If their profit is 5k, the buyer would be worried if all the warranty, maintenance and after sales are even possible.

I agree that the profit margin is quite reasonable if you factor in the 10 yrs battery replacement, 10 yrs free service and 6 yrs warranty.  Without this profit margin, it could be quite difficult to survive in the car business.   I would rather they make a comfortable profit so that they will be around in 10 yrs time.

Prob not the right thread to post this but I think the m6 is now at 149k?
