Delusional. Golfing and driving uses different skills.

She gives off a vibe of being high and mighty with low EQ.

Yeah very often you can already tell a person's mindset and real character within one or two sentences from them.

Here is a good test to see how selfless our decision makers are.

Will senior decision makers sign themselves up for this?

Mandatory annual driving test for those above 65.

And no, "but younger drivers are more reckless" is not a valid reason to say no.

I think PHVs get into more accidents, even when you include the amount of hours they spent on the road.
they certainly do more dangerous stunts!

Turbocharged

let the statistic do the talking

those who pay higher insurance premium i.e. new/young drivers should take a mandatory test annually

why do you think insurance companies charge them higher premium?

Wow I’d think 75 to be the last age to stop driving, or earlier if the person has mobility issues.

For elderly aunties I suggest they stop at 62 cos from experience they are more easily startled and will kalang kabok one.

Provided they pass driving and medical test then can continue to drive lor.. I think of mahathir when I think of 90+ yr old uncle driving...

“One should never use chronological age to determine another’s ability,” said the regular golfer, adding that she often outperforms those 30 years her junior on the golf course.

It really depends what age. At 50s, yes indeed some people can still outperform those younger.

But performance and cognitive skills drop pretty quickly after, say, 70 years, so by then the chronological age is a good predictor of your abilities.

Anyway once that age, I don't think will have the need to go anywhere in a hurry, can take the slow way, chauffeured in public transport [laugh]

not to be ageist but you are seeing more of these accidents liao

that said, the young , reckless and drink driving is the other category.

so with an aging population, this is set to get more prevalent in the years to come

Root cause is too many humans in Singapore :XD:

Well, not sure if i am biased, but 'road safety' should be based on 'driver history', e.g. tendency to speed= higher traveling speeds,
rather than just on age, and 'penalizing' older good drivers having to have annual medical check-ups.

e.g. an older driver without an accident record  vs  another driver always 'honking' other cars/ not giving way

I would prefer the former

True, the other day saw one elderly auntie driving, actually that auntie also not say very old, maybe 60 plus. She was trying to exit from a carpark to the main road, her car stopped almost onto the main road and keep moving her car out, even though there many oncoming cars. Then when she finally turned onto the main road, saw her in next left exit, turned out even though there was one car coming from the other side of the road. 😅

Playing golf and driving a car got any link? Lol. Some people might be very good in doing certain things, but doesn't mean they can drive a car well or can drive a car?!

Right to say at that age, they do not need to go anywhere in a hurry. This is why when you see an elderly driving on the road, usually they like to drive very slow hogging the outer lane. No matter the car behind tailgate very near to them, flash headlight and even horn at them, they also don't know what is happening around them. 😂

These drivers will tell you "I drive xx years with zero accident records" 😂

Zero accident not because they're safe but due to others being more alert.

True, always see those drivers drive dangerously and fast on the road and yet they are still well and alive, likely due to others being more alert and avoid accident with them. Lol.

We should only allow elderly to buy manual cars. If their legs have no strength to step on the clutch, they cannot drive. 😂
