Well… if you ask the majority worldwide. People vote for bread and butter issues. You think people really care about long term and political issues? 😂

bread and butter issue

I know people who said they voted to reflect their dissatisfaction at being unable to book badminton court slots.

I am quite sure they will win big the next election. Those who are dissatisfied are small numbers but tend to be quite loud and voice grievance via social media platforms and channels .

especially cost of living and prices of essential goods....all these keep going up...there was a write up recently about why are the incumbent ruling G in all the countries that have had their election and they lost....and the recent one was US! in all their reasons, cost of living/inflation was among the top reasons...pple are fed up with the ever increasing prices and why not give another party a chance to see if they can provide a better solution....

So yeah..is bread and butter...founder's memorial and all that can throw into the sea for all they care..

What you said is true if there is competent opposition.

Over here, other than WP, the rest is CMI.

Not forgetting that municipal issues is part of MP duty.

I believe a lot of voters will not take that risk.

the cut and fill approach did have an impact, though not huge. prior to that adoption, COE ran up to 150k and a few rounds above 130k.

with the cut and fill, COE fell to some 100k for Cat B. Without this added supply, which you are right to point out is relatively insignificant on the grand scheme of COE, we may be looking at a much higher COE of 130-150k.

that's why all eyes are on Feb 2025 supply and also on potential announcements on PHV category, which can have some effect on COE prices still.

Btw, the coming 20k supply increase isn't borrowed. It's created.

20k COEs spread over 5 categories over X number of years. Why do you think there will be significant impact on COE prices when total COE registrations already totaled 15k in the last quarter? :D

Time and time ppl have been let down.

Oppo has only 1 chance.

Don't forget there are only about 10% - 15% swing vote.

Exactly... instead of working on bread and butter issues, they chose to waste big money on projects that do not benefit the citizens at all.

From 2025-2026 the supply already increases. This is a fact. Coupled with the additional 20K COE, the price should drop.
