Stratovarius Turbocharged October 28 Share October 28 I remember one time in carouhell I put my fridge for sale. Then one lady offer say that's the best she can do as she is from low income and her fridge spoil. But it was on reserve for the other guy so I told her I will use the earnings from that fridge with a little top up and buy her a new one. Asked her for the measurement and volume and she even send me her social help card as proof which I din request. So I bought one from courts online and sent to her house. She took a photo of the new fridge and sent back to me. Felt good to help. No, I don't do volunteer or donations generally.
Jman888 Moderator October 28 Share October 28 dun think of help as in monetary or big favour, small small gesture also help. People give up seat for me, i will gladly sit down and say thank you, likewise i will give up my seat to other when they need it more. I will thank people who hold and lift or door for me but dun i expect other to thank me if i do that for them, no need cos i do it out of my own will. Giving help not necessary expecting a return, and accepting help also no need to guess other for having agenda when they help, so many guessing or calculation 算计 only make the world more complicated. I dun guess, i just gladly take. Anyone want to treat me lunch, dinner a bit difficult cos usually reserved for wife 2

But too bad many people don't think this way. The other day when i help my colleague, and then another colleague found out what i have done, he said why i am so stupid by not asking a return when helping.

Suggest to read this book, "Give and Take" from Adam Grant https://www.amazon.sg/dp/0143124986?ref_=mr_referred_us_sg_sg I think this is a must read book for anyone working in the corporate world . The truth is, the current world situation now is quite difficult and unpredictable. And unfortunately bad things can happen when you don't expect it, sometimes even with the best of planning. So, when bad things happen, whether individually or collectively as a country, should those in a position to help, reach out to help? Or is it every person for themselves, you die your problem? The above are good thoughts and really nice to see someone here thinking about this. However, for people to help one another, our community has to be at least considerate and kind towards each other first. Today, we are still far from that. People are still mostly inconsiderate and we see such behaviours all the time resulting in outcomes such as road rage to neighbor disputes. One day people will realize that to have abuundance/success for themselves, the best way is to serve/give or help others first. At least he was honest and told me it was for gambling debts Nonetheless, I still rejected him. lol

Those so called friends might not able to help you. It is always ended up you help yourself. In most cases, it's always about money. In that context, my thinking is always not to bite off more than you can chew. If I can control my spending, why can't you? So if you get into financial problems because of your own lack of discipline, don't expect others to help you. ↡ Advertisement
