TP speeding cause accident

When responding to accidents, depends on the nature.

If it's minor, nobody needs to speed.

If it's major, SCDF needs to speed. TP don't really need. They reach the scene what can they do beside direct traffic away?? The investigation can be carried out later, there's no hurry. Paramedics need to speed in case the injured need medical attention.

Anyway, this case became serious because of innocent party death. Reading the article, it's interesting how this fellow had a history of speeding but still joined the TP [laugh]

I find this quite interesting. Does that mean TP cannot speed when responding to accidents? Then why always see those TP car/bike drive so fast when siren on? [confused]

" had a history of speeding before he became a police officer"

Enough said!

Hope he gets a long jail term. 100 in a 50km/h zone within a housing estate is just asking for it.

Many moon ago, I encountered an accident scene along Republic Avenue towards City. The accident scene is about 200m after Crawford Underpass. The debris of the crash spread across 2 lane. Only right most lane is passable.

I carried my bicycle while walking through the accident scene. Called 999 after the accident. It was dangerous without anyone directing traffic.

Based on the photo, the deceased supposed to use overpass but didn’t.

The consequence of this accident is don’t complain when TP comes no so fast.

Next Time,Traffic Police should buy those 150cc Scooters instead of the 1,250cc BMW Superbikes...then cannot go so fast & save the Environment.

50km above speed limit is pretty excessive but 50km/h on that stretch of road is a tad conservative.

Pretty sure he breaches some internal speeding guidelines and they are hanging him out to dry.

I have seen TP sped in emergency, so it is definitely allowed.

What better way to speed when u with the TP.. anyway , those that does security escort are equally fast if not faster to shoo away the cars that are in front of the vvvip. So what’s the difference?
