Ang Mo Kio junction to be turned into temporary roundabout for North-South Corridor works

Drivers, take note the  intersection of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and Avenue 6 will be converted into a signalised roundabout from August 18 to end of July 2025

 

SINGAPORE – A traffic cross junction in Ang Mo Kio near Mayflower Primary School will be converted into a signalised roundabout for nearly a year from 5am on Aug 18, to facilitate the construction of the North-South Corridor tunnel.

In a Facebook post on Aug 12, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said the roundabout at the intersection of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and Avenue 6 will be in place till the end of July 2025.

At present, the junction connects Marymount Road to Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4, Yio Chu Kang Road and the Central Expressway (CTE).

LTA added that such road diversions are necessary to create enough space for works on the North-South Corridor to proceed safely since the corridor passes through busy and heavily built-up areas.

Noting possible delays for people travelling in the area, the authority urged all motorists and commuters to plan their journeys, and follow road markings on the affected roads.

Motorists can also look out for signs on the affected stretches that come with clear directions to specific roads.

That place must avoid when north south corridor still in construction. Unless no choice. Like the novena square, Thomson hospital area, very messy.

and many blur drivers anyhow cut lanes or last minutes make an exit 

No need to mention who but we all know those drivers depending so much on that GPS to make a living.

Any type of roundabout in SG is hazardous and dangerous. Drivers never give way or look and anyhow de.

Nowadays most drivers anyhow drives even on a normal road, so in roundabout, surely even anyhow drive. I have encountered before when i was already in the roundabout, but the car on my left side can just drive into the roundabout without stopping at the stop line and give way to the cars inside the roundabout. 😅

Suggest garment save money...just practice bagua chi...place a big fortune plant in the middle...cars automatically will go around it...if kena langar...at least workshop can huat...😁

100%. Nightmare to pass through. It doesn't help that the area is one of the most densely populated as well.

AMK Hub itself is not exactly a well designed mall either to make you want to go there.

The road outside amk hub pretty bad design and the traffic lights also bad setting. I go to amk hub but park at the hdb mscp, never park inside amk hub ever before. But that hdb mscp sometimes also quite bad traffic flow.😅

Any major construction work confirmed causing inconvenience to people. Like building MRT and public roads. Like the Jurong area currently building the Jurong Region MRT line, that area also become a nightmare.
