Brexit is about immigration.

They want to decide who comes in.

But England being a colonizer had race problems since the 60s.

Then it was Carribbean people.

In the 70s it was Indians and Pakistan.

In the 80s it was Vietnamese.

Chinese from Hong Kong came with nothing and got nothing from the government.

Vietnamese boat people got free government housing and Hong Kies not happy rioted with them in the streets.

An all Asian affair.

All the while since the 60s black and white race riots.

The take away is colonise a country, take away all the riches but don't take the people!

COL is the main underlying issue and long simmering racial tension is the trigger. During bad times, to the racists, everything is the fault of people who looks different.   I am glad we have strict rules against those who plays the race cards here, lots of racists around us. 

It is hard to change people’s prejudice and hate, so G needs to focus on jobs, the economy and to manage supply.

This is a very long running and complex issue.

He was First Minister of Scotland who gave an actual racist hate speech in parliament, by not even knowing who that is.  Perhaps,  just perhaps... you missunderstood the underlaying issues.

You're mistaken if you think Poland doesn't have social problems.

The tone is starting to get a bit xenophobic. I urge caution.

When I stayed in the UK for work about 20 years ago, the Brits were actually grumbling about the Poles  How there were substantial numbers of them and they even have their own Polish language newspaper in UK. It was a small industrial town and few east asians. So, personally felt more of a novelty and no open racism. If anything it was a patronising kind of racism where the natives were pleasantly surprised I could speak english fluently . Remember this was not big city but quite kampong by our standards.

I guess people everywhere are generally open to immigration except that there must be a balance and a limit to the numbers, so that meaningful assimilation can happen. The immigrants should slowly absorb the ways of the natives, if they want to settle there. This will not happen if there are too many of them and they start to form their own enclaves, stick to their own.

Haiz.... far right,  racist,  xeno, fascist etc... all terms thrown out casually when talking about immigration,  especially illegal immigration of the sort seen in europe. Where the often terrible consequences are buried in woke name calling,  statistics and obscure articles most will never see.

Of cos Poland has social issues,  (sidenote.  polish border guard recently stabbed to death by a "refugee") every poorer eastern Europe country has. Even rich western euros have too.

But... what social/ crime/ security problem does a rich sweden has that poorer Poland relatively doesn't? Apparently it's far right to even acknowledge it. Long suffering brits esp now could even be jailed for tweeting it.

I said Singapore has lessons to learn from it... thinking again,  I was wrong. We actually have lessons to TEACH, hope it's not far right to say that. 

At govt level:

We don't accept illegal immigrants,  period. Rotan ah.

We moved out genuine vietnamese refugees, we didnt/don't/won't accept rohijas and other boat ppl (Aus Problem) and will not afaik. Open gate see what happen. 

We will NOT tolerate even legal visitors disrupting our lives. Start from LKY days, its integrate, behave,  or else find out.

 

At individual level:

PAP lost its first GRC. No one can deny,  overcrowding and immigration issues play a part back then, voting in WP wasn't because voters or WP is far right.

CECA... some say still ongoing, iirc, a minister even went India to tell them Singapore cannot and will not take in more. Remember the guy who tear a Singapore flag shirt to reveal Indian flag. Integration lah🤣

 

Europe is the only place in the world that's extremely hard to get work visa or PR even as highly qualified pax. But... people with zero to contribute can apparently walk in, demand housing and welfare,  do terrible things... and it's racist,  far right etc to refuse. 🤷‍♂️

Immigration is complex... but it's undeniably swung too far off.

If he doesn't get a stiff jail sentence quickly,  the charges of  two tier policing will explode.
