Here will still have coe and parf to support. Taycan in other countries value plummet like crazy.

their cars there are cheap, while it is true that a car can lost half of its value, it is painful by their standard ,but that amount  may just be a normal 1 year depre of a same car here🤣.

Jokes aside, the loss in value is because people avoid buying used EVs but that does not mean people will not buy new EVs, new EVs are still flying off the shelves like hot cake.

It’s not clear what sparked the blaze, but the model was reportedly only two years old and wasn’t charging at the time. Mercedes told the BBC that once they were informed about the issue, they got in touch with the owner’s insurance company to examine the vehicle and begin an investigation. The automaker also offered the owners a loaner vehicle.

The incident reportedly happened on September 30 in Spratton, Northamptonshire and the Daily Mail reports the EQA only had around 28,000 miles (45,062 km) on the odometer. The owners also told the publication, “It didn’t seem like Mercedes took me seriously at the beginning” as “nothing really happened beyond ‘we’ll conduct an investigation.’”

While investigations don’t happen overnight, the family is understandably upset and has been hitting up the British media circuit. It also sounds like they rejected the loaner vehicle as the husband said, “I’m not keen to sit in a Mercedes ever again.”

As for the investigation, it’s reportedly still ongoing. However, there doesn’t appear to be any fire-related recalls for the EQA in the United Kingdom. In fact, the only recalls we found on British EQAs involved a steering issue and the lack of a printed owner’s manual.

 

First Korea, now UK, both became intertaional news, Merce is going to be i big big trouble, first sales slump,  next lose money, then law suits soon.

How unfortunate and ironic had it kaboom while sitting waiting for parts.
Will also probably take down its fellow siblings sitting at the lot. 🤪

given the risk of batt life, new EVs are better bet than used and if buy used, chances are higher that a replacement batt will need to be factor in in the purchase price, guss that is why the 2nd value drop like mad, even for a 1-2 yrs car...

i think if buy EV, the mentality must be the same as buying hand phone....use for 3-4 yrs and then change, and expect to write off totally...:grin:

plenty of other fire cases in China but not Merc...other EVs..

indeed if you are in the market for a used one....plenty of options now...just weigh the pros and cons..and your lifestyle i guess and pray hard...:grin:

Provided you drive 250k km in that 3-4 years
