EV fires can be put off like any fire, but once the battery burns, it will not die completely. The energy stored inside the battery will start heating up and start another fire until the stored energy is completely depleted.

There is nothing SCDF can do other than killing the fire temporary. The owner might have to make own arrangement with those battery management and disposal company to soak the battery in water until the energy totally depletes.

But then, EV battery ignite is just like ice car fuel tank leak and catches fire, can happen, but how often?  [laugh][laugh][laugh]

imagine all our MSCP full of EVs next to another....

Insurance cover bo?

after monitoring has been completed please do the followings:

all EVs MUST be parked at the top level of MSCP only!

and all EV chargers must be installed at the same level!

for carparks located at the ground floor, EVs must be parked at least 10m away from non EVs!

Wah, better park far far away from any MB EV or maybe I should get one instead. Sure very little dints and dents on my door.  😅

There's already a sign....... "Owners park at their own risk."

Building management and burned car owners will claim against the culprit.

By the way, statistically, better park far far away from hybrid vehicles based on probability and expected loss.

This is based on US data, which is mostly Tesla. i think.

Actually, Chinese hybrids are especially scary. Lots of fire.

But EV with the wrong battery is really low probability and high impact.

Partly the reason premiums are so high for EV in EU, UK, and US..... Accident repair and battery replacement costs, and third party damage claims.

Technically, if strip out BMW and Range Rover, already ICE and Hybrid stats drop by like 80% 🥹

i think there is a lot of other things to claim - can the  affected resident claim loss of home usage...say need to book hotel to stay...or cannot go to work, loss of income....

or my children cannot go to school, lost of home work and education, and mental loss...

As long as you can quantify and prove it, SMLJ also can claim.

I don't know. Just sharing some US statistics. Largest car market in the world or maybe second largest now.
