What makes you think it is the valve body? 
If you have never touched the transmission, then 1st thing to do is check fluid levels. Google how to do for Mercedes 722.6. 
then 2nd would be to change fluids and filter to see if the cleaning up the clutch materials will help the shifts. 
3rd step is nothing more to do except to replace which you should not given that few months left. If cannot move then scrap.

I read online that it could be due to valve body - https://www.dubizzle.com/blog/cars/bad-valve-body/#:~:text=The valve body works like,damage to the automatic transmission.

Replaced atf oil and filter over - have not experienced any surge in rpm yet.

Hi guys, yes I put up the car for sale and it's been sold. 

Reason: I bought the car initially because wife is expecting, wanted to provide a more comfortable commute. 4 months in, we start to see some issues as described previously. So my wife and father (2nd driver) don't feel so confident of the car able to last throughout the next 6 months. 

List it up to see if got interest, managed to find a buyer through carousell.
