Watch with sound on, so you can hear the barking. Aggressive? Some comments says it was not aggressive. I don't know, not being a dog owner and someone who was bitten by a dog as child, I would interpret that continuous barking as aggressive.

It can be avoided if the dog is leashed.

To someone who is afraid of dogs, this is an attack on the officer.

Officer did nothing wrong.... nothing to account for. End of the day, what is so difficult to leash your cutest, most obedient dog when out?

Even an attack on the officer, but don’t think need to shot dead the dog. I think such behaviour is consider ‘normal’ when dog see a stranger appearing at their house. This video no see if the dog has bitten the officer?

That's not being realistic. The dog was on the owners own property.

The officer is approaching the home.

Not saying the officer can't defend himself. But this is Iowa. He must be going into houses with dogs every day... He can just run back to his vehicle.

i've never owned dogs but have friends that do.
i was bitten by a medium sized dog in vietnam earlier this year. Fortunately my boots stopped the teeth from going into my leg.

if a dog of this size in that vid charges at me, i would freak out. The barking doesn't help.
Notice the owner failed to call the dog back.

btw a friend of mine - not in SG - owns Akita Inus, a Carne Corso and a Dogo Argentino. They're all kept on a leash in his house but one of the Akitas still managed to bite a passing kid on his arse at the doorway. Settled privately. The CC and DA look really mean and evil. Akitas look more cute but looks can be deceiving.

In US most American suburbs dont have fences around the houses usually , only certain areas they fence up their houses which are theft prone or other safety issues and somehow most Asians there fence up their houses

Some of the estates have something like estate rules. Your lawn must be open etc. Cannot fence or cover up, awning or what not.

Not really sure about this technicals or bye laws ; but have seen most of them in suburbs without any fencing (good neighbourhoods) and only mostly Asians will erect one with perimeter wall/fencing/gates

Fear and panic... unless the police is trained to deal with dog or chase by dog every day else the police normal reaction in States is to pull out revolver for self defense.

If you are a passerby, how to save the boy with minimal damage to yourself? Any techniques, kick on the dog nose? I notice hitting the dog's body is useless, coz the dog seems to ignore any pain inflicted on it.

Lift and hoist the rear legs of the attacking dog as high as possible...or drop bodyweight onto the dog which the boy did to suffocate it...

I'll sink my thumbs into the fuxking eyes of the fuxking dog...dig them out if possible...😂
