BMW is fire prone?

I noticed that there were several cases of car fire involving BMW model recently, thus am wondering if there were similar cases reported outside Singapore. For BMW owner or motoring expert, is that a serious concern or just pure coincidence?

Iirc, there's an ongoing recall on EGR valve for BMW rides. It's a potential fire hazard. A neighbor sent his 216d in several times since last year for free checks while parts are ordered. 

Think he will be sending it for replacement of affected part next month cos stocks arrived.

I guess no one will bother about looking into why BMWs have been catching fire of late as there are no reports of injuries/death.
