Pocket Rocket to replace my Swift Sport

As per title,

any suggestions for the replacement of Swift Sport, my unit is due to scrap in early 2029.

I know it is still early but nowadays I hardly able to see any similar cars

Small and nibble with go kart like acceleration.

1) New Swift Sport - AD did not bring the automatic version, spouse cannot drive

2) Mini Cooper S - Cat B COE, a little out of budget

3) Seat Ibiza 1.5 - No longer available as new unit. Very rare to find in used car market

4) Honda Fit 1.5 hybird - I only had a chance to test drive the normal 1.3 version which I feel the accelration is no where near the Swift Sport. I hope the 1.5 with hybird motor will be better. New facelifted 1.5 model also hard to find in used car market

5) Audi A1/VW Polo 1.0 - This 2 item also no longer available as new. Only can find in used car market

Any other models to look out for?

I tried it and yes, has that oomph.

would put it between the seal and i4M50 in terms of the overall package

1. New Swift no Sport yet.  Swift Sport still previous gen.  CM only bring in 130hp, not 140hp version.

4. Honda Fit 1.3 cannot compare with 1.5L eHEV la.  eHEV uses motor then engine.

The zc31 and 32 are quite in a weird spot. They are at most warm hatches, neither here nor there. A logical upgrade will be the Cooper s or gti and those you have to go cat B. You cant find a similar performance car in cat A unless you go ev. But I think ev drive are anything but nimble.

4) Honda Fit 1.5 hybird - I rented the first batch back in 2018. Back then it is using 7-DCT. Pick up shiok. New models now using e-CVT. Feeling maybe like Prius.

5) Audi A1/VW Polo 1.0 - I think A1 will sit in workshop longer than you drive it. This just my POV.

Any other models to look out for? [I assume you looking for PARF car]

- If you dont mind abit bigger, Mazda 3 HB. Astina trim very nice interior. Not much mods though.

- If budget permit, then Cupra Leon.

Sat in a few freed fit 1.5 hybrid with dct all with grab/gojek. The dct implementation with hybrid is lousy. Only works well if you always somewhat floor it. With the partial throttle by PHV drivers  it makes for a jerky and vomit inducing ride.  The cut in of the petrol engine is also very rough. Power is there but the overall refinement isn’t.

Ah maybe got mileage to it already. Back then I rented the car, was only 10k mileage from Tribecar. [They leased a few Fit Hybrids that time and I rented 1 to run errand, as well as get a feeling of it]

New Fit Hybrid (including Civic & CRV Hybrid) works differently from previous gen.

e-CVT is misleading to a certain extent.  There is no gearbox.

Instead, it is replaced by 2 motors.

Below 60km/h (i can't rem exact number), it is pure electric. Engine is just generator for electricity.

Beyond 60km/h, it is pure engine.  With 250nm torque, it is nice to drive in the city.

Then all the more shitty right. More mileage is no excuse. 😂
